YouRams
I'd be pretty disappointed if he was choosing to leave us after having an offer from us, didn't he say he was close to retiring and we gave him a bit of a lifeline? alram

Leeds Ram
Not sure why McGoldrick would drop a division to play in league 2 for Notts County. It would be more than strange given how he dominated the division last season.

MACKWORTHRAM
If he wanted to stay he would have signed by now. Whilst I'd be disappointed to see him go. I honestly don't think he would have hit those heights again next season or played as much. We're a bigger club, in a higher division who would have offered more money. But he just wants to end his career at the club he supports. Can't begrudge him that. Good luck to him. So imagine you've made your footballers money from a long career, you've had a brilliant season exceeding all expectations but it was really really hard work and you know at your age its going to be hard to do again then your lifelong club the Mighty Derby call offering a final contract In the division below.......... Just dont get why people are surprised surely its everyone's dream? TBH he did look a class above League One level so how he could look in League Two is beyond imagination.

Good luck to him, he's had a good career and helping NC to stay in the football league as the last thing he does in his playing career would be a great way to bow out. Quite where our goals will come from next season are anyone's guess but you've got to think we'll sign 2-3 strikers if he goes. Hopefully we can spread the goals out and share the load. Time for the recruitment team to earn their money. If we’re going 3-5-2 then we’ll need 3 strikers unless the plan is to use NML up top.

Yeah but he’s a die hard Notts fan who’s desperate to play for them apparently lets be honest here it’s an embarrassing situation and slightly worrying going forward that we are losing our best players to teams the division below Carnero

He started his career there, perhaps he sees it as poetic to end his career there. We can’t hold him to ransom. IF it happens I don’t find it embarrassing, he had a one year contract, we’re allegedly in discussions over a new deal, if he chooses not to sign it and move on THAT IS HIS CHOICE. How would you feel if the club was to pay over the odds to convince a 35 year old to stay here? The only thing that’s genuinely embarrassing in all of this is the inability of adults to control their emotions about the whole thing. Shuff264
Contract length may be playing a part here. Wonder if we are unwilling to give more than a 1 year contract, Notts may be giving 2.
Gerry Daly
If he goes, he goes with our blessings for what he gave us. We will move on. He will have been on good wages which we can use to bring in other, younger players. David Graham Brown and Caerphilly Ram 1
