  1. I've wanted to watch Operation Mincemeat for a while now and it's been out about a year, but it's still not available to rent on Amazon, I'd have to buy it for £13.99, which is never going to happen. I'd pay a fiver, but no more.

Sky are running a deal at the moment to get free movies for 30 days so we decided to do it.

We looked at 2 more we want to watch, but they are both also on Prime.

The Banshees of Inisherin is £11.99,  and The Batman which is £6.99, both only to buy.

I get the argument that it's cheaper than going to the movies, but I really don't want to buy a film.

Is this something that is relatively new because of studios struggling during lockdown?

I love moves, but there are so many great series out there that I'm unlikely to pay north of £10 for one when there is always great stuff avilable

I wonder where it’s getting those stats from then? It sounds very specific like it’s using stats from a different person.

ChatGPT isn't working in real time, it cannot access any data after some time in 2021. Everything is programmed into it.

But that still doesn't explain why it would have something so glaringly wrong.

  3. After reading the Trump poem debacle that @maxjam posted and like @Stive Pesley I too tried out, I posted this command

Write my an article comparing the first season of Paul Warne at Derby County to that of Arthur Cox. Give stats of games played, goals scored, goals conceded and strength of opposition.

    Here's its response.

Paul Warne and Arthur Cox are both former managers of Derby County Football Club. Their first seasons at the club are often compared, and in this article, we'll take a look at their statistics and see how they compare.

Paul Warne was appointed as the manager of Derby County in the summer of 2020, taking over a team that had struggled in recent seasons. In his first season at the club, Warne led the team to a 12th place finish in the league, with a record of 17 wins, 11 draws, and 14 losses. The team scored 50 goals and conceded 48 in the 42 games played.

There was more that was right, but that is a massive red flag for users.

I've been doing quite a lot of playing about with it and it's incredible. But, if it is getting such basic and verifiable stuff wrong, that's concerning.

I'm sure stuff like the Trump poem and this will get ironed out as it progresses, but until then it's definitely a case of user beware.

To be fair, you don’t have to be particularly intelligent to realise trump is an idiot that lives closer to Harold shipman than David icke on the scale of decency. The developer didn’t have to build that in, it just means this AI is more intelligent than your average slack jawed, banjo playing yokel.

The upcoming ai and chat gpt tech will change these devices in the next 2 years and actually make them useful.

At the moment ours is used as a kitchen timer and by the 7yo to check his maths homework.

They're super useful now, at least to me and Mrs Badger. I use them multiple times per day.

But yeah, ChatGPT and what follows will make them incredible.

I'm spending and hour or so each day on ChatGPT and it's mind blowing.

The world is about to be turned upside down for a LOT of people.

BBC reporting today that they haven't turned out to be the must-have that was expected. I have to agree with the woman in the article about being annoyed by notifications and requests for reviews - though that only happens occasionally now.

Have you got one and what do you use it for?.

We've got 4 echo dots in the house:

2 x Kitchen & Living room - almost exclusively used to play music

2 x Bedrooms - Daughter uses hers for music and alarm clock but ours is mostly just for the alarm

I have to admit I've never adopted the smart home thing & am quite capable of turning lights on and off etc. It's rare that I even think of asking a question of Alexa, I just grab my phone and google it instead.

Am I missing something amazing to do with them?

We have two and I love them both.

The one in the bedroom I use mainly as a radio and alarm clock as it has no screen.

But I'm always firing questions at the one in the kitchen that has a screen.

Only about an hour ago it said on radio 5 they were about to interview Andy Farrell the head coach of the best rugby team in the world later on.

I don't follow rugby at all and had no idea who he coached, other than it not being England or Ireland, so I asked it and it told me that he was the head coach for Finland.

I then asked it who the main star in Happy Valley was and it told me Sarah Buckinghamshire.

And finally there was a black and white bird helping itself to my bird seed and I didn't know what it was. Apparently, it's a penguin.

It's good to stay informed I think.

Won't be able to binge watch it until Feb 19th

    *sigh

    Why the 19th?

I thought there were 10 episodes and it's only up to 3.

I hope you're right because I can then stop paying for Paramount and take Sky up on their 1 month free movies offer that includes Paramount and get to see them all.

Anyone else been killing time waiting for Happy Valley?

I've watched every show in this series twice so far.

I'sd not seen season 2 as it wasn't shown in the US. SO we went back and watched 1 again and then 2.

I thought 2 was better than 1, we really enjoyed it. The first one went a bit soap operaish at the end and felt like it was padded out.

We're 3 into this last season and it's good.

Sarah Derbyshire really is outstanding in it.

I love Tim Burgess, had the pleasure of meeting him hundreds of times and almost considering him a friend. Kind of lost touch when I binned off Twitter, but I regard him as one of the kindest but most switched on people I've ever met.

Funnily enough I heard him interviewed on 5 Live the other day and thought he sounded like a total knob.

Just kiddin', he actually sounded like a lovely guy. I instantly liked him.

Plus how can you noyt love the guy who wrote what I think is the greatest tracks to come out of the Madchester era (I know they weren't from there!)?
