I understand your frustration Donegal and I totally sympathise

The wider issue is that businesses are going through, and have had to go through, the single most disruptive and unpredictable period since the second world war in the early 1940s, eighty years ago, in another world.

The next issue is that the pandemic has created some incredibly difficult problems for businesses who provide large audience entertainment

Then, we also have a micro issue of a local owner who has spent over £200m of his own money, who is saying enough is enough, and who is also not in good health, according to reports.

Granted, Mel has been his own worst enemy on many occassions

Lets be kind, and cut them some slack given all the above

It isn't just Mel in that building. Who the duck is in charge of such operations?

@B4ev6is. The life of the club. You deserve better

  2. Right, so I pissed in the sea a couple of weeks a go. It was harder than I thought. I couldn't get the stream going without pushing really hard. Anyway, my mate says that you shouldn't because at the end of your piss, the dribbley bit, sea water can go up your Norbert due to the pressure and you can get infections.

Mines had infections before, so it doesn't really bother me. I'd do it again.

But, but, even I could organise buses from my armchair in Littlehampton. There could be some money to be made transporting some enthusiastic people around the country in a small amount of buses on specifically created dates for the next 9 months.

    Full House Reaction GIF

Fur. Load. What are you not getting!?

There is no money to be made from taking money over the phone.

There is no money to be made from selling seats on buses, or even having  the benifit of having more fans at away games.

Just drop it. Mel is doing his best.

Bump. How rude of you Derby folk and full fans. Might someone please advise me of the relationship ‘Roadriders’ has with the club?

Look, mate. Everyone was furloughed. It's impossible to hire someone who can organise a certain amount of buses, on a specifically created calendar of dates for the next 9 months.

It's also impossible to find someone to answer a phone in a ticket office. Or take payments. So stop with the stupid questions.

Nooooo....need him to dominate and control the midfield......

Obviously that's his best position, you'd be stupid not to think it isn't.

I just think he'd be better off as a CB when he comes back. He's going to pick up all kinds of niggles. He will have played about 15 games in 2 years. His body isn't going to be ready for the running required in midfield.

    Only my completely unqualified opinion.

Darren Bent is commentating, do you think we could sign him up quickly? 1 year contract and on for the second half ?

Flash back a few years and I couldn't wait for him to be gone, needed better ?

Yeah, if you want the World record for being offside the most in 45 mins to be under threat.

I turned on at 2-0 and actually think we’ve been pretty good in the bits I’ve seen

What are people expecting? Some of them are actual children

If your name is Melvin, you're expecting the 8th best group of academy players in the whole country to win this easily and get us to midtable safety in the leaghe

    Everyone else was expecting this.

It would be criminal to play him as a centre back

I agree. But I wouldn't risk DM in our predicament until he had been fit for a good 3 to 6 months.

We just need him on the pitch. He's a beast at defensive and offensive set pieces too.

  9. An ACL for someone like Bielik isn't the end. Or two of them.

I'd stick him at CB from now on. Probably best in a 3 with license for him to carry the ball more.

Still would be a brilliant player at this level.

David has a dog not a cat.

Haha, thinking more Melvin than David.

You heard from him? Take it he's alright and not getting too stressed with the situation. If I was him I'd forget releasing it now. It will all come back to bite him again on social media when it lacks the info everyone wants.

Fair point. Hadn’t thought of that, although I’d say Lawrence is better than any of those attackers.

I am also a complete fool.

I won't argue with any points you've made in this post.

Anyone advocating getting rid of Tom Lawrence while we're in our current situation is a complete fool, in my humble opinion.

But what if it means it pays a tax bill, the embargo is lifted to a soft one and we can sign 5 or 6 players who we've had on trial? Bearing in mind his wage is reported to be about 20 to 30k a week too.

    Lawrence out

Jagielka, Carroll, Morrison (doubtful), Aluko, Baldock in.

I'd take that. We'd be able to sign decent players on loan too.

  13. Well, I think we should sing

    'I pay my tax bill'

'I buy what I want, I buy what I want, I've paid my bills, I buy what I want'

'not our ground, no fans, not our ground, no fans'

    'let's pretend we've scored a goal'

I mean honestly, those saying don't protest, Mel wants out anyway.... The bloke could have sold us for nothing 2 years ago and been better off. He hasn't wanted out this badly for 2 years. He's only got desperate since he has backed us up against a wall surrounded by the EFL, the tax man, other EFL chairmen, a significant amount of the fan base and now it seems most of the lads we have on trial.

  14. I just cannot believe that a meeting took place for 4 hours, and the highlights seem to be that there are no incomings or outgoings, Mel wishes we used more academy players and that there are interested buyers.

I could have told everyone that without needing 3 hours and 59 minutes more and wasting people's time and money to get to the meeting.

I'd have also done a 45 second interview with Radio Derby so not as to subject normal fans to abuse online.

Then made anyone with a supporters number sign a NDA. And their families.

What the duck did they do for 4 hours. Talk about Nick's massive flag? Rooney and his new mates?

In fact I should probably start my first ever thread:

Things you can discuss with strangers that takes 4 hours.

Personally feel the club should have at least put something out to all that if nothing else, acknowledges fan concerns. Communication has been awful.

However, they have chosen this way. For this forum @David the rep. Stop acting like spoilt kids and let the man give his report when he is ready. Doing something in good faith and being abused for it. Sad reflection of modern behaviour.

This. The club has made it, through lack of communication, a normal fan's job to pass such important messages on.

Absolute disgrace from the club and those on Twitter giving David poo.

Really sorry to hear you've had to leave a job you really enjoyed Norman. All the best.

    Appreciate the thoughts, mate.

Tbh, I could use force or had other powers to alleviate some of the behaviours. Legally, obviously (threat to others or an immediate threat to themselves  etc)

But think for people like @David. He can only stand and watch the spiral and deterioration of behaviour until it reaches the inevitable end point. That's far harder imo.

  17. I have to laugh.

The outright audacity of some on here is laughable.

Openly calling out those not wearing a mask in an air conditioned, ventilated supermarket, but happy trotting into poorly ventilated pubs and sitting in stale air whilst taking their mask off (or maybe not wear one at all) to sup every now and again or eat a meal.

Is one worse than the other? Nobody knows. And as its personal choice, who cares. But stop with the fake ********. Nauseating.

  18. It's absolute ********.

I have left the job I love because I couldn't handle the mental illness epidemic behind closed doors.

I'm not saying this will happen @Davidbut, it sounds to me like you know pretty much where this could lead. Prison.

Like so many others. Even then they can refuse the meds. It is left to untrained officers (in mental health) to try and deal with someone who is dangerous and violent. And cannot be reasoned with.

I've been punched in the face by a murderer who was in the midst of a pshycotic episode.. He fixated on me. This was after 2 hours of me sat watching him behind perspex tearing stitches out of his neck wounds. 4 weeks later, he is moved to the unit I worked on. No care by anyone for my safety. They thought it was funny. I'm a big lad, and he wasn't, that's why it was funny apparently. Not going to stop me being stabbed though is it?

Such a sad state of affairs. But what can you do when so many people suffering severe mental illness end up in a world where the public do not see them or have to deal with them. And it really isn't the best place for them. At all.

Yes, leaving it there, is a good exit strategy when bullpoo is pointed out.

Can you call someone out on bullpoo about something they haven't seen, when you haven't seen it either?

Don't have enough players in a training session so then you launch into a 50/50 that means you have one less. If Knight had trodden on a ball fair play but that's not what happened, he got crocked by his own manager in a 50/50... maybe if you have so few players you take extra care in training and don't go into a 50/50?

There's plenty on trial making the numbers up. We aren't running around with 14 players on a full sized pitch either.
