I'm double jabbed and had the booster. Also had Covid twice.
Does that make me the most vaccinated person on here?
So who are the unvaccinated? I'd say people who have only had 2 jabs, and people who have not been vaccinated and not recently had Covid.
Which means the unvaccinated that have had Covid recently - and we are told by people on this thread it is those primarily causing the spreading - are technically more vaccinated than those with 2 jabs.
If the booster isn't on the supposed vaccine passports, then the passports are worthless. Completely worthless. If the booster is on the passport, it's still ducking worthless as it doesn't stop you getting it or spreading it.
I'm also a member of MENSA, so that means I'm right.....
I'm not, because I don't have grandiose narcissistic traits. Which include a lack of empathy, thinking youre on a higher intelligence level to those around you, becoming angry and aggressive towards those who do not agree with you.....

Nope, definitely not interested in right wing bullshitters. Also not interested in videos filled with emotive shock-jock outrage. Happy to read anything you like though, it's fine, I have a concentration span.
Fact check yourself. Joe Rogan has stated himself he has never voted Republican. He has only ever voted Democrat or left-wing independants.

Let's hope there isn't any stupid restrictions announced in the New Year.

This article from the Independent 4 hours ago, says that all feint lines are positive. It doesn't mention the possible impact of a booster.
Are there any articles that day that the booster can cause a feint line?
The laterals pick up protein spikes. Not antibodies. So you can rule the booster out.

Thing is, the morbidly obese are not causing lockdowns and restrictions causing innocent folk to lose their jobs..
(I think stronger encouragement for those obese to stop harming themselves would be a great thing mind you)
Two-thirds of patients in hospital with the Omicron strain are not there with Covid as a primary reason
31 percent of patients with Covid in hospital right now caught it in hospital.
Underlying health conditions play a huge part in the numbers.

Over 81.5 percent of the UK who are over 12 have had two doses of the vaccines.
Over half have had the booster too. Yet we see record cases and huge numbers of infections.
I think it's time the media dropped terms such as 'fully vaccinated'. The numbers make a mockery of any Covid passport too.

There is a lot of misinformation in this thread. And it's being stated in such confidence.

At least least you’ll have Christmas off
Had from the 24th from 20.30 off, and wasn't back in until 30th at 20.30 anyway. But yeah, will get 2 or 3 shifts paid up.
Who's going to do my last minute Xmas shopping now though?

Not feeling well the last few days, but currently off work for a 4 day stretch - just done 2 lateral flows. Both positive. Got a PCR booked in for tomorrow morning.
My Birthday just after Xmas too. Good times. Double vaccinated, booster last Wednesday but probabaly hasn't had time to kick in. I did Google if that could bring up a false positive, but apparently the laterals work off protein spikes and not antibodies.
The Mrs is testing negative too, just to rub it in.
Covid round 2.

Who is actually vaccinated against the new variant?

I had my Booster last week. Only to protect others. For me, the government can duck off with any restrictions.
I worked through the worst of it, caught it through work when it could have easily have been avoided. Not letting people from a certain city who were already positive being shipped to my place of work would have helped me and my family - most of which caught it from me.
When the restrictions were lifted, through a mixture of time, money and common sense, I didn't put myself in various pubs where you could drink with no mask on, I haven't been on holiday, I haven't been to as many football games.....now, who the duck has the right to tell me to not mix with my family over Xmas? Nobody.
There are people on here who have potentially been spreading the virus a lot more than me, but because they wear a mask to the shops, but not to the pubs they frequent or the holidays they have been on, they seem to think they have the right to call others selfish.
Bizarre. And it is the same people who now fully support a lockdown.
Get out of here with your hypocrisy.

Or maybe I'm not seeing people who are happy to go along with the latest round of BS.
People who first time around were praising the Government, are now seeing through their rubbish.
If people are so happy to go along with the latest restrictions why are there so many ignoring the mandatory mask wearing rule?
Think it would be very interesting if the Government tried to impose another lockdown.
Even the government is facing huge internal pressure, evidenced by the vote yesterday.
Why are the people who seem so sure of there intellectual prowess so often the least self-aware?

I made a mistake and hold my hands up.
If you link me to the correct figures re doctors and their families I will make a full public apology to you.
Careful, mate. He will post it in his World famous Facebook Groups with 10k followers. That's a lot of people who can then tell more people about how anecdotally they know someone who apologised on the internet.

That is actually the very definition of anecdotal evidence - personal stories.
I run Facebook groups with about 10k people in them and I have maybe another 10k people follow me on social media and I literally don't know anybody who had a severe problem. I'm not saying that means they don't exist, I'm sure they do, but I'd say your experience is incredibly unusual. If we ll knew a couple of people who'd died and two more who almost did nobody would be having the vaccine, especially not doctors who know that it poses that level of danger.
I know my wife thinks all NHS staff should be vaccinated and so do her immediate colleagues. It was the same in the US before we moved back. She's never met a medical professional who isn't in favour of that.
Again, another post that gives a definition followed by an example. Loving the effort people go to.

The ONS do not predict. They report retrospectively.
'In England, the percentage of people testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) increased over the last two weeks, but the trend was uncertain in the week ending 1 December 2021; we estimate that 891,500 people in England had COVID-19 (95% credible interval: 842,000 to 941,200), equating to around 1 in 60 people.'
I'm sure it says the word ' estimate' in there somewhere. As this isn't a technical submission I think the words predict and estimate can be interchangeable.
But I'm not going to argue over typos.

The mortality rates quoted were based upon the first year of the pandemic, when nobody had been vaccinated.
Now something like 88% of the UK's population over the age of 11 have had at least one shot, and 40% have had a booster.
What we are now seeing is a far greater protection against death or serious illness in overall terms - in other words, the vaccines are doing their job.
I'm not 'claiming' anything - just reporting what was stated widely in the first editions of this morning's newspapers.
I don't think I've dodged anything either. Sure, there are times when I don't respond to some people on here - but that's usually where I think that the questioner is two sheets and I would be banging my head against a brick wall. Voicing those thoughts usually sees me receiving a forum holiday, so I'm learning.
Forget all that.
The ONS were predicting cases were up at 100,000 cases a day this time last year.
The mortality rates have been massively wrong the whole time.

Give it time. The stupidity of people knows no bounds. Remember that the 'official' figures are confirmed positive tests.
I wouldn't like to estimate how many cases there actually are, given that many infected people are said to be 'asymptomatic'.
You don't have to. The ONS have done it for every week for the last 18 months.
The week ending 27 Nov was an estimated 850,000 cases.

The Administration Thread

It's just pointing out the truth.
There's a reason a former chairman is the only serious bidder left.
There's a lot to do after a preferred bidder is named.
The administrators are still considering the offer with a view to the creditors.
We could still go bust.
Honestly don't know why people are getting their knickers in a twist about it.
