Match Thread: vs Reading (H)

Of course we had a huge helping hand from the ref. The positives… great performance first half, passing quickly to white shirts, a pattern of play, some decent chances, the result. Negatives… should have done better against 10 men, felt the pressure got to us  and tried to rush the third goal. Overall, it’s the points that matter now COYR!

Gayle the difference -yes it looked like handball on the penalty 😉

PW just said bradley wasnt well and was sick when he came off

Adams is the real deal, Gayle is pure class and the 3-4-3 formation finally seems to be making sense (especially to Sibs who looks like a new player). The ref was having a great game until he suddenly wasn't, but it's about time we got some decisions going our way.

Just 8 more cup finals to go, but we're hitting our stride at just the right time. I reckon we'll do it.

Well a bizzare game for a seasoned derby fan , we played well and controlled the game but strangely made hard work of getting the 3 points and a poor ref again but poor decisions went in our favour ,,, yep strange night 🤷🏻‍♂️,

three points and we are starting to look like a side , real variety of play going forward , players coming back from injury to give us a strong looking squad , win every game of the 8 and no one can touch us , it’s that simple , big ask but this squad look capable of doing that , of course that’s probably not how the next 8 games pan out but we are right in there looking every bit as good as those around us , we are not the poor imitation of our promotion rivals as some would have us believe

come on derby💪💪💪💪💪

Fully deserved win and pretty comfortable except for one ball into the final third we allowed to drop.

No controversy in the win for me. Reading played into the ref’s hands with so many cynical and brainless fouls. On another day, they would have had a man sent off in the first half. The keeper also charged out needlessly, giving the referee a decision to make.

Adams was imperious, but Gayle was the difference. His intelligent runs and movement and clever touches scared the life out of Reading’s defence. He also took his goal very nicely.

If we can keep him fit for the next eight games, we have a very real chance of promotion.

Did you watch the game at PP? We sofa fans had the benefit of replays.

Both yellows for their defender were ridiculous. One for handball when it hit him from two hards away, the second Hourihane dived.

Gayle also handled the ball for the penalty.

Gayle’s opening goal looked offside too.

But apart from all that?

The officials are crap down here so I'll thank this one, 1st goal was offside from the freekick...take either Bradley or Gayle as both were offside, Penalty looked to be handball by Gayle but the angle wasn't 100%

As seen on Sky TV, Who gives a sh!t on how we win we've been fcucked over a good few times by p!ss poor officials this season😡

Move onto the next game ☺️

Edit

Handball by Gayle 😊

We need those dives and dirty tackles going forward it's the difference between teams when it comes down to it, previously we were too lightweight and kind to opposition. players like Adams and Gayle have that winners by any means necessary mentality

No, just no.

Three shocking decisions by the referee; the two yellows making the red and Dwight's handball for the penalty.

Derby's football was good in the first half, less so in the second.

We'll take it 🐏

Onwards and upwards!
