Morecambe v Derby (A) Matchday thread

People are going to work as normal today. Kids are in schools as normal. Why should sports events be cancelled this weekend?

I understand halting some stuff yesterday when the news dropped, but UEFA matches still went ahead without issue.

Horse racing postponed today along with the test match. Also the last 3 stages of the Tour of Britain have been cancelled. A lot of money down the drain the event organisers and those working within the sports that have been cancelled, and the change of plans to the fans and spectators who won't be able to change bookings at the drop of a hat.

The Anglo Saxon King, whose lineage was replaced by Normans

They French then Dutch then German. Danny Dyer is as Royal

True but there was cross fertilisation between theirs and ours right the way through. … love the Danny and Daphne nicknames and apparently the Queens code name was Sharon ?

It’s not a small sacrifice is it. People will have booked trains and hotels, to cancel a match at less than 48 hours notice during the cost of living crisis is ridiculous. What’s wrong with a minute silence and black armbands. If people want to mourn then don’t go but don’t force it on everyone

Plus all the local businesses that rely on the business that football crowds bring them. This cancellation might mean they can't pay wages. All the temporary staff who work as stewards, caterers etc, will they not get paid now?

If we cancel one game, why not a month of games? Why not all season?
