Ask them how their cricketers are doing. Sam Northeast declared having scored 410 n.o.

They were in europe last year so needed the squad so would wager most you have listed would have seem a reasonable amount of first team football last season one way or another

They did. Leicester had a lot of injuries too, their first choice back four were all injured for long periods, so the likes of Thomas, Soyuncu and Amartey played a lot last season. But their first choice back four is Ricardo, Evans, Fofana and Justin. Vardy was rested regularly, and had injuries, so Daka and Iheanacho played a lot.

The team that played at Derby today are all experienced Prem players (and most of them play for their national team), apart from the goalkeeper, and would probably get into most lower half Prem teams.

I thought we did OK.

A team thrown together in 3 weeks holding a Premier League team (second fiddle or not they had some good talent on that pitch) and looking good in spells.

Everybody around me was saying we’ll be OK in league 1 and I agree with them.

Why don’t some people wait to judge after the first game next week when our “real” level opposition comes to PP.

No. The team playing at Preston at the moment is likely to be the team that starts the league season. Tielemans is likely to be sold. Of the others, only Ndidi is a first choice player.

Castagne? Soyuncu? Justin?

Like the way folks are saying it's only a pre season friendly so the result doesn't matter and on the other hand people are then getting bent out of shape about Leicester beating us.

It’s the same people that won’t mention we scored the best goal of the game

Correct young Tyler, That is all it is...a friendly, Getting players together on a pitch is far better than training at Moor Farm, A week today we will be playing a COMPETATIVE game, A very good crowd in good voice and a team another week down the line and things will start to take shape ?

No surprise about the result.

I cab see that the team still requires work, and derby are definitely missing that total striker.

We are missing a player who scores goals for fun ie Alfie May or cole Stockton.

Defense still needs work.

We have some old midfielders who just don't have speed in their skill set.

Rather a bit of back of fourth on performances in this forum than what we have had to deal with the last 9 months. I quite enjoy different peoples perspective of the game today etc. it’s been missed tbh than talking about if derby were going to survive as a club

Leicester's first choice full backs are Ricardo and Justin. Castagne is second choice in both positions.

Soyuncu Is third choice central defender behind Evans and Fofana.

Justin is playing at Preston...

50% of your lifetime's posts have been to tell us who is, and isn't in Leicester City's first XI,  odd.

The bindippers have always been thick as mince. An absolute non-entity for 130 years & after a fluke title, start acting like Man Utd. Their 'effort' in trying to goad us this afternoon betrays their inferiority complex.

As for the game, we predictably struggled at times against a very strong side. Although the marquee names were at Preston, that XI would walk into any top Championship side, let alone our level. Although we tried to play & at times broke on their back 4, we struggled to create & their finishing was wretched first half. That said, we scored a fantastic equaliser & should have led when Mendez-Laing had acres of time in the box to score.

Bit perplexed by some of the play in our own final 3rd, a mindset which led Onoruh to play a square ball across his own box for their 3rd. Totally on board with trying to play from deep but the philosophy has to measured as risk v reward...narrowly dodging 4 oppo players just to knock it square to Curtis 10 yards from your own goal is not worth the risk. If the opposition are trying to stop the press, mix it up by going long...with Collins, Mendez-Laing & Barkhuizen we have enough presence up the field to secure the ball and of course there will be space because of their press.

Other observations; Max Bird was superb & great ball out to Hourihane in build up to goal. Hourihane much improved from Tuesday & best game of pre-season from Barkhuizen. Korey Smith looked very bright, I like his pop passes & quick feet and he'll get better as he gets matchfit. On flip side, we simply can not play a high line with Chester & Davies at the back and whilst not his fault, bit concerned at lack of service Collins is getting. Needs addressing asap.

Overall not too disheartened. Onto Oxford & the real business. COYR
