Said no Derby fan ever

Recommended Posts

It's the off season, so what are some things you'd never hear a Derby fan say.

I'll kick off with a few:

I have a real soft spot for Kenny Burns.

Bobby Campbell was a much underrated striker.

I always knew that Claude Davis was the final piece of the jigsaw prior to the 2007 season

Robert Maxwell loved the club and the city with all of his heart.

Leeds were too big to come down, I'm happy for them.

It was great to see Cloughie take over down the road.

We never really deserved to beat QPR, it  was a fair result.

I really admire the sportsmanship of Brice Samba.

I felt terrible for the home fans when Marriott's second goal went in during the playoffs.

I quite liked the BBG, but it never really had much atmosphere.

I thought the ref in the Juventus game was outstanding.

And finally, for @B4ev6is - I LOVE those pink shirts.

Sorry but I do have a soft spot for Kenny Burns. My dad was a lifelong Forest fan, he had a stroke a while before his death and we met KB at the horse racing. He was raising money for help for heroes by having photos with a cup they apparently won ages ago when they scraped past a part time team from Sweden. He spent @ 30 mins reminiscing about the game which my dad had attended too. I think he just likes the pantomime villain role. He is a fat bar steward tho

I'd love for Dion Dublin to enter my back door.

I've always been a fan of Homes Under The Hammer.

My life long wish was for us to draw West Ham in the cup and then to have Lil' Duane bowled over by Lee Noble in the box for the penalty that sent us through the next round. Next day back page of the papers carry a photo of penalty incident, Duane tumbling over with Noble falling on top of him under the headline: 'Holmes under the Hammer'

OK, maybe not my life long wish but it would have been nice.

- If I had to pick a second team, it would be the adorable Stoke City, such a class act of a club and city.

- I wish that Stuart Atwell bloke reffed all of our games, he's sooooooooo competent

- Lets change the name of the stadium, I reckon "The Uncle Mel Appreciation Stadium" has a nice ring to it

- I wish Stern John was still in his prime and we had him here.

- As soon as Rooney gets snapped up, let's get in that Phil Brown geezer
