Nice to see the dictatorship of the EU countries have resumed their roll out of the AZ vaccine now we have let them have some of our vaccines.

Our government is spineless giving in to them.

The decision to resume isn't based on us letting them have some,  it's based on them deciding that it is in fact safe.

They already have millions of doses which are manufactured on the continent aswell as the UK

How have our Government given in to them? They have received less vaccines than was planned and our government have refused to allow them to top it up from our supply.

My apologies - it's @TexasRam who posts the bogus graphical tripe. Seeing as you usually agree on everything, it was an easy mistake to make.

Good morning Eddie ?

So how have we got supply shortages all of a sudden and the EU seem happier to get on with things. We are fed the ballox from our government and accept the crap they spout.

Had a dose of AZ vaccine last night. Starting to feel a bit ropey and achy around the neck and shoulders.

Almost 6 hours in, for me.  Not a hint of anything as yet.  Fingers firmly crossed for a side-effect-free weekend.  ?

For reference, Muckerette was tired with a mild headache the following day.  An afternoon nap put paid to that.  No achy arm.

Best o' luck, buddy.  ?

Its really starting to take off in mainland Europe now

We all know what that means - This years summer blockbuster The Brazilian Variant coming to your town this June- unless were very careful with incoming traffic.  If Europe keep pissing about moaning they haven't got enough vaccine, then shooting themselves in the foot by stockpiling the supplies they have for pointless further testing, we could easily have a further wave in a couple of months.  With slowing up of vaccine supply and the threat of new variant we really need to be very careful over the next couple of months or everything could be getting mothballed for the foreseeable.

Read some stuff about the Brazil P1 variant - and it sounds like they are in big trouble. Variant even more transmissable than the UK/Kent variant, and younger people being more seriously affected. Hospitals running out of anaesthetic to intubate people, having to commandeer supplies from Veterinary practices...

And it's already spreading in the US...

From what I've read though its the Kent variant that's running rife in Europe with some South African. Also its thought that whilst the current vaccines are possibly less effective against the South African and Brazilian, they still provide some protection. I think that in UK we can be reasonably confident that a 4th wave based on new variants can be held at bay or largely mitigated until we get amended vaccines for booster shots in the Autumn. I'm not so confident about the EU zone though, it looks really dicey. Figures in France for example are going up alarmingly and the Germans are following not far behind

France now saying the AZ jab is only safe for those over 55, you can't make this stuff up.

No evidence to link these blood clots to the vaccine yet for some reason France continue to discredit it. Very clearly a political decision...what says you  @GboroRam ??

Can we not call it 'Brazilian' or 'Kent' variants, please?

Remember those that got offended by the terms 'Chinese' and 'Wuhan'. They are still feeling it to this day.

The Kent variant should be renamed the Garden variety, and the Brazilian one Capoeira, after the original Kung flu.

Not sure if you saw that 6 asian women were recently shot dead in that latest US gun massacre? Might not be the best time to make gags about the zero impact of irresponsible language. US gun nuts aren't as rational and nuanced as us exceptional English types.
