Don’t envy Clowes on this subject. We need a decision and fast.
Rosenior is the obvious choice but is a massive gamble as to whether he’ll be a good manager or bad. If we look to bring anybody else in that won’t happen before another 10 days or so and by then we’ll be needing players asap.
Think we either place all our chips on LR and get the ball rolling. Or we accept we’re gonna have a poor start, get battered most weeks. But whoever we go for can assemble a team before deadline day and go from there. -
-
Ian Evatt would be my number 1. But compo and the fact he’s made some smart signings for Bolton may have stopped this dead in its tracks.
Rosenior, Morris will surely be sniffing, Paul Cook potentially?- Arsene Titman and Rammy03

I'll welcome Ashley if he gets the club but f*** me, he's annoying!
I'm sick to death of his game playing, he's clearly an intelligent business man so surely he understands that just continually telling everyone that he has £50m 'waiting' to complete the takeover, does not get the job done. He is a multi-billionaire so of course he has that kind of money sitting about, but unless he puts that down on the table he just looks like a buffer.
If he wants to buy the club, and if he wants it in anything other than a desolate state, walk into Quantumas office tomorrow, slap £10m on the table and tell them that they can have the other £40m next week if they just give him the go ahead.
OK that's over simplified but my point is, IF YOU WANT THE f****** CLUB, JUST BUY IT!
Exactly this. The fans and the workers for Derby have been put through the ringer enough. No more game playing, get us bought and get us signing some players.

Surely if nobody could come up with the funds 6 months ago they aren’t going to be able too now?
Unless AA has roped in a bigwig with a sizeable wallet. -
Is it just me or do other people find it odd that since CK withdrew his bid we’ve not heard a peep from him.
I would’ve thought he’d address what went wrong and apologise for not being able to take us on.
Do we think a reason for the silence is that he hasn’t completely gone? -
I don’t fancy us in Qatar, purely for the heat factor. But it must be said our group is easy and anything other than a convincing qualification will get the alarm bells ringing.
I feel Southgate has had a good crack at the job and must be applauded for the feel good factor of 18 and 21 but sadly I think his time may be up.
Unfortunately the FA would need Goliath size balls to sack him now so we’re gonna have to go to the WC and hope for the best.

Appleton seems one of those Managers who goes from job to job, name always comes up, but hasn’t achieved an awful lot….
Definitely this. Always seems to get praise from all the football media but as you say has little to admire in the trophy cabinet.

I have a feeling Kirchner has damaged our takeover hopes more than we know. If he had no intention of completing a deal, there is every chance he has agreed to a deal which is far higher in cost than most, or any, interested party are willing to meet. If that is the case it means a lengthy process. Bloody hope I'm wrong on that front.
I'm resigned to the fact that we are in a very similar position to what Bolton were in a few years back.
Rooney will be gone, we will have kids, who will either sink or swim, over time we will add and build.
Anything better than that I will be happy.
Exactly this.
I've been quite ignorant to Bolton's woes but from memory they had to play the kids for a fair few weeks. I imagine this will be the same as us and then come deadline day we may be able to start bringing in some experienced players. But the likelihood of us being on a League 2 tour next season is increasing by the day.
-
Disappointing as I reckon we could've got him signed on for next season if it wasn't for that dastardly CK. Hate to be Captain Negative now but I imagine we'll struggle to retain any of the players out of contract.
Could well end up playing the youngsters the first few matches and it may well be a panic near deadline day once a takeover has happened to bring in a few more experienced players. But none of which would have been part of last years Herculean efforts.

Have you been on the drink? People on here ( along with fantasy island kirch) talking promotion tilts next season with our players staying , manager staying and on mega money , players attracted to the club by said manager despite the state it’s in and a toss up whether they get they’re wages at the end of every month and a bounce straight back promotion push ,
the fantasist has left the building , now let’s get down to the real business of finding out what actual business people are prepared to pay when they fully intend to pay up and buy the club in the state it’s in
do people actually not realise that our club is teetering on the verge of extinction and just being saved at this point is far from a given , anything beyond that is a bonus ,
now I’m just off to talk to the fairies at the bottom of my garden to see if there’s any parties comming up
Whilst its now looking that you're right. People have been told by CK and others in the media that he was the saviour and that everything was gonna be rosey, can't blame people for being open to that idea.
Its a bit of a shock to the system now to have the axe centimetres away from our heads.
-
To be fair if we accepted the -15 now we'd probably still be able to assemble a decent squad and have an outside chance of making the play offs. Its the messing around and likelihood of another relegation battle which really rubs me up the wrong way about MA and others stance on our price.
Most people had MA down as the preferred bidder months back, with them predicting us in league 1 on -15 and yet because of Q and CK's ineptitude we're still in no mans land.

I don't understand why prospective owners can't just pay the required amount to avoid a points deduction. You're effectively coming into the club and accepting relegation to League two. It just doesn't sit right with me. There must be someone who can get us out of this.
Totally agree, just pay the money, assemble a good squad and back the lads to get us back to the championship. Its not like the people looking at buying us only have £30m wealth and nothing else. They're worth 100's of millions. Either you're serious about buying us and saving the club or you're not.

I said previously that this season could go from the very depressing to the very best and everything in between. Unless one of the bidders pulls their finger out in the next 2 weeks I'd say we'll have to settle for depressing end of the spectrum.
Rooney could easily go, we're not going to have a competent squad and more than likely we'll have -15 to contend with. Then it'll all be about the League 2 campaign the season afterwards. Its better than liquidation but it a sobering thought especially when you look back at the many play off campaigns.

Full version to Hotel California
On a dark Derby motorway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of liquidation
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw Pride Park lights
My heart grew heavy and my patience wore thin
I had to stop for the night
There Quantuma stood in the doorway
I heard the missing Mel
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Heaven or this could be Hell
Then they lit up a candle
And Mel showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Derby Administration
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Such a fall from grace
Plenty of room at the Derby administration
Any time of year (any time of year)
All them oh so nears
Mel’s mind is definitely twisted
He’s got the Mercedes Benz
He got a lot of wealthy, wealthy boys
He calls friends
How they dance at the Moor farm
Sweet administrative debt
Some dance to remember
Some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain
Please give me a sign
He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here"
"Since 1969"
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say
Welcome to the Derby administration
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Such a fall from grace
They livin' it up at the Derby administration
What a bad surprise (what a bad surprise)
Bring their alibis
Kirchner on the dealing
The yank champagne on ice
And he said, 'We are all just swindlers here"
"Of our own device"
And in the Quantumas chambers
They gathered for the cash
They count it with their beady eyes
But they just may have been a tad rash
Last thing they remember, he was
Running for the door
Q had to find the passage back
To the place we were before
"Relax,” said the sly man
"We are programmed to deceive"
"You can buy-out any time you like"
"But we’ll never leave!"

Will be interesting what tomorrow brings if CK’s cash doesn’t land. I’m not saying I’m anti CK but he’s had more chances than a Cheshire Cat.
I also think Alan Nixon has been quite informative during this process but his insistence in shooting questions down with ‘I’m just interested in the cash landing’ is a bit of a cheap answer. I mean we’re all interested in that part but there’s got to be more that meets the eye. -
Hard to know how important this will be, time will tell.
I would imagine someone of Rooney's calibre will have a replacement lined up. Once the takeover is done we may even see a couple more of Wayne's preferred backroom staff.

To be fair Nixon has a point. If someone was so desperate to ride in and save us why haven’t they since 5?
Even now men in suits are fiddling their gold coins to see if they can save themselves a few bob ?
