Well my fears for LR's reign are starting to show themselves. We're only 4 matches in and yes we did have an awful pre season but i think most fans would acknowledge that the style of play is very similar to what we have seen the past 2 seasons.
At the moment we seem to enjoy possession, insist on playing out from the back (despite CD's weak spot on this matter) but not actually create an awful lot.
I acknowledge that the players are still finding out about each other and i'd also agree that we're 3/4 signings light from us having genuine promotion contenders squad depth. But at the moment i don't look at how we approach games and get excited that we're going to put teams to the sword.
LR is somewhat compromised that he's had no alternative but to use the coaches already within the set up but if things don't change soon then i think fans will become restless and LR will find himself without a job.
Overall i believe this smells a lot like the Clough/McClaren season where the players are there, but the tactics/training/selection aren't quite at it and are stifling our potential. I hope I'm wrong and its just a case of shaking off the pre season drama, but wondered what others thoughts are currently towards LR. I'm fully behind him for now...

Think this highlights that we’re still 2-3 players short. Could do with 3 real high quality loans to give us that edge.
Out of all the big hitters in league 1 we’re the only team that seems to be having problems putting teams to the sword. -
Missing Curtis. Sounds like we’re as dead as a dodo tonight. Need an experienced warrior with a bit of oomph about him on the pitch. For all our oaps we don’t seem to have that.
-
LR rolling the dice. If it works he’s a genius if it doesn’t then surely questions will start being asked about our dreadful second halves.
-
Sounds like Shrewsbury have woken up. I know we’re behind because of pre season blah blah but it’s starting excruciatingly predictable.
-
How we start second halves this has Charlton v2 all over it.
Matches like tonight will tell us a lot. Can we find that moment of magic to break down a stubborn team? Can we keep our concentration not to concede when we’re so dominant?
Big 45 ahead. -

Ignorant to the standard of the MLS these days but it’s either better than most of us give it credit for or Byrne’s too proud to admit what he’s done was wrong and has had to resort to the MLS.
If only he had a time machine. -
The beauty of MOTD in comparison to any football league show is that they only have one league to concentrate on.
With the amount of ‘big’ teams in league one now, it’s a bit meh that we have to wait 40 mins for a quick 30 second clip.
In an ideal world each league would have their own show but marketing that would be tricky.
As others have noted with ramstv and YouTube so accessible these days it’s maybe out dating the usual format of match analysis and highlights. -
Think a lot of the hate comes from Mel’s antics leading to Derby fans on twitter giving it the big’un.
Also think the size of the club sets us up for a lashing. If Morecambe or Plymouth were found guilty of the same crimes as us nobody would bat an eye once they’d been punished and moved on.

Birmingham showing an interest. Wonder how much of a loan fee we’ll get from them? Would’ve thought not a lot.
Sneaking suspicion Stephens might sign once Bielik has left the building. -
Would’ve been nice to see a couple of new coaches added to spice the team up. Unfortunately this scenario is unable to happen until LR is proven to be the right man or not.
So far we look the same as last season which isn’t bad but isn’t mind blowing either.
Starting to think next season might be a better chance for promotion. -
Waiting for a journalist to leak these two players got me like…

Like most when we signed him i was less than impressed however little did i know what turmoil was around the corner.
Cannot fault his endeavour on the pitch and he even popped up with some important goals.
I'm not too emotional about his departure as i think his ending ties in nicely with the new dawn of DCFC. But everything that he gave on the pitch i say thanks.
Kudos for the departure letter as well as it seems genuine and heartfelt. A true professional.

Will be interesting to see who we bring in this week (if any at all). Our work in the transfer market has been impressive so far, however i'd imagine that the majority of the deals were already sorted before Clowes takeover.
I'd say we're still 4-5 players short, so will be interesting to see what calibre of player we go for next? More experience? Or maybe a couple of young guns on loan?
It may be a case that we're also quite close to our business plan and need one or more to move on before we can get the cheque book out.
As far as i'm aware currently we're linked with; Roofe, Northampton's LB and Stephens.
Let's see what this week brings.

Was thinking about this last night. It’s been eerily quiet on the Bielik front, I think most assumed he would leave once relegation was confirmed. Then the Poland manager said he’d need to leave. He’s not been seen in pre season (due to his knee apparently). But nobody has really been linked with him.
Best we can hope for is either nobody comes in and he bosses the league/the Poland manager was bluffing. Or a number of clubs start making bids and we can have an auction for a loan away.
I personally can’t see him staying I thinks it’s a matter of who and when. Although if the only bid we receive is poor then that might make things sticky. -
Disappointed if he’s not announce tomorrow with the caption ‘What’s the story, morning Korey’.

Think they may do alright. I almost don’t begrudge them doing ok either, they’re having a go unlike Fulham and Bournemouth who are accepting relegation.

Not particularly salty or upset about Rooney leaving and now going to DC but it is a little odd. I imagine the reason for these events are one of the following two:
- Colleen wanted him to move on especially after his wage would've been drastically cut.
- He was linked to the Kirchner deal and that was the only reason why he stuck around for as long as he did.
I'm pretty sure that Colleen was glad to have him back over here after his spell as a player in DC so what's changed? Plus without being a snob he would've probably wrangled a decent championship job/premier league so why risk having a shocker in the farmers league thus damaging your reputation, when you could just wait and get a job in the big time?
-
We have the Brighton defender and Collins as solid links. Think if we get them both over the line we’ll need Bielik and Knight to leave in order to bring in a younger batch to finish the squad off.

Sibley is an enigma, burst on to the scene and breathed life in to Cocu's team during covid.
Then with everyone waiting for the Louie show to properly start up he seemed to drop out of favour.
I would've had him down as a definite squad member for this season, however if LR doesn't rate him then Coventry may well got him on the cheap. I think at this stage in his career he's either got to be guaranteed plenty of minutes for us or he needs to be pushing for a move to start a fresh.
Let's see how this one plays out.
-
I agree that so far Ryan's bits have been excellent.
At the time of appointment I believe Cocu was the best name available, so i was happy that we got him. However, i never really took to his style and obviously this was compounded in his second season where we looked terrible. It' sad that a genuine nice guy hasn't been able to lead us to glory but that's how it goes i guess.
Very much looking forward to Ryan's next article.

Think the manner in which he’s left as given the sour taste in the mouth. If his contract had expired and he’d moved I think the general consensus would be ‘bloody Quantuma, another ones gone’.
Instead a contract which he and his representatives signed has been disputed and he’s weasled out and left us with a poor fee. I doubt the extension would’ve been disputed if we’d stayed up.
It’s irrelevant now anyway as he’s gone and there’s nothing we can do to stop that. Wasn’t a world beater but at league 1 level he would’ve been an asset.
Let’s see who we bring in to replace him.

Good input.
My post isn't to say i want LR gone. It's to stir a debate as to what people think of our performances/results so far. In my opinion every second half has been poor and we've scored 3 goals in 4 matches which isn't great.
I've tried to include reasons/excuses for LR to balance out my post but in my opinion everything isn't rosey.
As i said, hopefully we'll come good as the season kicks on and any doubt can be put too bed. But there's no harm in asking questions especially in a forum format.
