It should be a good game to really see where we are. Peterborough off the back of a 3-0 loss to Luton hopefully means we should be able to go there and get the three points, but if we can't and don't then it will be a sobering experience.

Good to see the tickets selling well, at least after this opening day fixture with the lowest attendance in Pride Park history.

First championship game at home after a 3-0 thumping .  Marriott up top probably.  Think it will be tricky to be honest.

  2. My grandma lived in Coventry during the war, they moved there as her dad was a baker and Coventry was a boom city with loads of work.  She told my aunt many grim stories including one where a German pilot who survived a crash landing was pushed back into the flames of his burning wreckage upon escape.  An incendiary also landed in the alley way beside the house but didn't go off. The cathedral in Derby was a primary lookout point regionally for air raids . As the second tallest church tower in England it would be feasible to see something from there I imagine.

I honestly don't love this comment from him. He got total backing from the fans today no-one had a pop or a go and we all got right behind the lads for 90 minutes. It would have been nice for him to focus on that and not the absolute mess that we're all aware of going on behind the scenes. The comment kind of undermines him as well, is he saying as soon as we could get an experienced manager we'd fire him and the only reason he's in the job because no-one else will have him?

Yes, I don't think he's the right man for the job and I don't think he should have been given it. But he's here and we've spent an entire match singing his praises and the players despite the problems. The club have earned a point, lets focus on that, build on it and see where the issues lay. Pointlessly focusing on outside media is part of the problem that can infest a club like ours and comments like that suggest he's distracted and thinking elsewhere.

If Billy Davies came out with that, he'd be tore a new arse. I don't agree with him either.  A job here is still one of the best jobs in English football.  Either Quote 1-you have a good squad and fully expect to beat Huddersfield or Quote 2 - Were in a right poo mess and nobody else would be here .  Make your mind up and stop whinging . In or out.

We were allowed to offer him £4500 per week. I doubt very much we offered him less. So I would assume that:

    a. He at first refused, then decided to accept the offer.

    b. The EFL were refusing at first to agree to the deal.

Perhaps were on a lose wage to bring in wage basis.   Marshall goes perhaps frees up enough wage to bring in 4. That's my best guess.

Phone lines and ticket offices cost money. I sincerely doubt the number of people without internet access is going to cost the club any significant amount of money on balance. If people don't want to adapt thats fine, but it doesn't mean the club has to use a less efficient system just to cater for what will be a vanishingly small proportion of fans.

I don't agree at all.  Particularly with the small proportion.  A lot of people don't like putting personal information on a PC.  The majority of businesses have a phone line for customers- only the worst ones don't. Unless Derby have plans to become Yodel.

I know some folk will say it's no excuse, but I know of at least one fan who has barely missed a game in 60 years who won't be going as he can't print-off an e-ticket and doesn't have a Smart 'Phone. That really is a crap situation for lots of older fans.

It is phenomenally strange, not having a phone line or ticket office open.  For a club that is supposedly up crap creek to throw away thousands of pounds seems more than incompetent, so much so my minds whirring as to some clandestine reason for limiting the crowd.

are they the only ones who would accept such low wages then?

Davies was already here, we already have two goalies and Stearman was bombed out as useless by the club we're playing tomorrow.  Is everyone else distinctly underwhelmed that Stearman and a goalie have taken up two of these spots.  Did we have to sign them or lose spots by playing youngsters tomorrow.    I'd ring up and ask the question - if the club had a phone .

He's played quite a bit in pre season with the Euros and that.

They really like what they've seen so far.

Called him a £3m signing in the Echo, which softens the blow a bit.

Two seasons out on loan and they'll have that back is the depressing bit. Really grinds my gears. 50% of loan fees paid should go back to the selling club till the player is 23 if it's a move for a championship scholar to a premier league club.  The championship academies are just becoming their money maker. Bit like Delap saying he needs game time. He'd have got plenty here that's for sure, we might have got 20 goals and and a load of cash and he'd still have got a move at the end of it as well.

Is he throwing up?! That might possibly be the most disgusting thing I've ever seen ?

I'd put this on par with a drunk bloke I once saw in town drop his trousers in a doorway to take a crap but he didn't pull them down enough and filled his his own pants with what resembled the chocolate river in Willy Wonka - pure liquid.  Then he pulled them up and his own stench made him let loose from the other end- then he attempted to get in a taxi.

That may not have made you feel any better.

    Dude - chill your boots

There's a good chance one of our former owners funded the club using money stolen from his companies employees pensions

Morris hasn't got us on a great state but he's far from our worst owner

To be honest, by that stage he'd abandoned us and was using that money to sign Lineker for Spurs via a loan prior to trying to buy them.

Oh FFS he can’t be serious in regards to the Academy

That bit drew my attention as well.  Not to worry, if the bit about the EFL signing saga rumbling on is accurate, there will be plenty of chance to see how a team of 19 yr olds gets steamrolled by a team of players with 10 yrs experience at this level.  The answer to his question  will be right there, as will the total crumbling of confidence in these players, who will have no respite when there struggling and no experience to fall back on

Best advice is to wear a mask, as the smell emanating from the pitch last season was said to be ‘agricultural’.

The smell on the pop side was agricultural standing down wind of a bloke who'd had 5 pints of bitter pre match.  No masks and far less chance of escape.  The pitch smell is chicken feed - probably literally.
