Is he paying for his own publicity videos?? He's a Derby County U23's unused sub not CR7 for christ's sake.

Almost as if he's doing an audition for a better contract somewhere else....

..and that looks like a seven year old in goal.

If Marshall goes to Celtic that will be our goalie

Couldn't agree more but what they fail to realise is that by dragging all this on they're preventing/slowing down a takeover which will see them rid of Mel.

Also, it doesn't help that the other 2 clubs are now in the Prem so he is the only chairman remaining who initially went against them.

Off the back of this we also moved away from the EFL's ifollow platform and had ramstv.

By dragging all this on they keep us under embargo and we can't look to bring in an adequate squad due to wage restriction and ambiguity of division .  They relegate us next year, points deduction or not.

Anyone else watch Kevin and Perry Go Large for the umpteenth time this weekend?

    Still makes me smile.

Should be the go to growing up video in schools!

Remember a lot of those characters in Amnesia from time past - particularly the bloke wearing a suitcase.  Also remember a bloke who was the dead ringer for Uncle Albert, who basically lived in Pasha.

Wycombe's owner is an opportunist, the irony, for me, and this may not be popular, is that if any side should stay up at our expense, it is Rotherham. They, along with Wednesday & us, were the only other sides in with a realistic chance of survival on the final day, not Wycombe, who had a vastly inferior Goal Difference.

They came within 5 minutes of achieving survival themselves, and it took an equalizer and a 6pts deduction to ensure we stopped up.

Rotherham did call off games due to Covid 19, playing 3x in March, but they played 9x in April (Wycombe 6x) and 3x in May (2x for the rest of the division). How does that ensure the integrity of a competition? I'm surprised by how little fuss Rotherham have made, perhaps the final standings render this pointless, but on a moral level, they competed until the very end & actually took maximum points off us.

Chairman's a nob and the manager proved to be a bigger one in his interview after the last match.  It actually took a converted penalty to ensure we finished above them.  The question should really be how they put themselves in the position of 3 covid outbreaks in 3 months. I don't know enough about the Sheff Wed situation to know if they were unlucky or not.  There situation seems less grey area than ours.  Based on our current experience and the reduction in point penalty it's possible.

    2 berth, or 2 bedrooms?

Assuming the latter, and assuming doubles, that's a mere £807.25 per person!

  6. Was thinking of a trip down to Cornwall in August - till I saw the prices.  At the minute they must be at least 3 x higher than normal.

A 2 bed caravan for 7 nights in Newquay can be yours for just £3229.  5 nights in a B&B £945.

I'm sure you 'got it' before the EFL because it's your club and you're all over the numbers. Quite a different question is whether the EFL has the responsibility or the manpower to check the methodology underlying the numbers (which are presumably pulled from the audited accounts). I don't know the answer to that question

If such draconian measures are attached to any deviation from policy, it most definitely needs to be their responsibility and definitely shouldn't be revisited after 3 years. A firm and direct policy as to calculation should also have been in place from the get go.

The threat is to sue us for cheating.

Seeing as we were a division or two above them for the years relating this supposed discrepancy and seeing as last year our running costs would have been well within limits, not forgetting they got relegated because they had a 20 stone carthorse up front they can **** off.

As they've accused  Derby County of systematic cheating despite us declaring our calculation variance years ago and this process still be ongoing  and are effectively making a veiled threat to push us into administration, my immediate thought would be sue them instead and turn there shed into a car park.  Wycombe Wanderers not worth the **** of our shoe.

Exactly why I ask @Rammy03.  Hence why it feels so vindictive.  The EFL should in theory be there to help and protect its clubs but every step of this journey looks like someone's personal vendetta with little or no sense of pragmatism. I can almost picture someone sitting there in an old boys gentleman's club, smugly raising a glass happy to see us relegated as their bank account swells from a completely disproportionate salary thinking "that showed them".

It was farcical they signed off the purchase of Wigan then put them on a 20 point deduction within a few weeks. Is anyone surprised. I have no doubt in the race to finish us off they will make a monumental slip legally -think we're about at that point.

The litmus test is how quickly we file the restated accounts for 2016-18. As others have mentioned, it seems inconceivable that exercise hasn't already been conducted to 'stress-test' the numbers.

I'm not concerned about the EFL threat to relegate us for 2020/21...even if we haven't come within the 3 year threshold, we can drag it out by a) waiting until the 18th August deadline/2 weeks into the new season and/or b) appeal any sanction which will inevitably delay the process. Problem with option a) is we're under a transfer embargo until those accounts are filed which inevitably means another season of struggle.

Therefore, Wycombe can clear off...they've got zero chance of reclaiming their place at this level. But our position overall is still very unclear until & unless we submit accounts that comply with P&S. If we can not, I'm not sure what the avenues are from a legal standpoint chiefly around 1. damage already done to the club with this protracted process and 2. disputed interpretation of FRS102 & fact EFL and auditors both signed off on the amortisation.

I would add some comments about the EFL's general conduct at this point but I'm not going to waste energy on such a pitiful set of specimens.

I have no doubt following the Rotherham 6 games in hand scenario from last season they would try and hold our fixtures back for a month.

and where did I say anywhere that I think all clubas are sweetness and light? anywhere? somehwere? or actually nowhere at all..?

they are al bent as hell, we are proablbly the worst and we have got caught...so accept the punishment.

the EFL havent " got it in " for us... anyone who thinks that is some sort of mental conspiracy theory crackpot

Can we have our promotion from 2014 ?? . QPR had a wage bill in excess of 70 million that season.  We are far and away from the worst. Accept the punishment for breaking the rules.  The way we worked the accounts was signed off for 3 years.

The problem is the rules are what the EFL decide retrospectively.

We bent them, in the way that accountants normally bend rules, what we submitted was legal. But the EFL have decided after accepting them for three years that they are against the rules. The DP seem to see this but the LAP don't. What really concerns me is the EFL won't stop until they have screwed us, various parties seem keen on helping them, and they have painted us a cheats who deserve it. The timing of the press release last night and that there seems to have been communication about the case from EFL to Wycombe seems to be sinister. I have been getting more annoyed all day and might have to express it by sending Mr Parry a jiffy bag full of dog droppings.

No way Wycombe turn over 12 million in a year even at maximum revenue.  Bunch of del boy chancers.

    Context.

First managerial job, came in when we were bottom of the table, whilst a takeover was on the cards, loan signings picked up injuries which left us with a super thin squad.

You can question his tactics, subs, and all that, but was dealt a difficult hand so the question have we progressed under him is incredibly unfair at the minute.

He did keep us up, forget the points deduction for Wednesday, the Cardiff goal, he kept us up and that’s that task complete.

Progression has to be judged starting this season where he’s had a summer to build the squad, albeit in difficult circumstances still, but level on points with the rest of the league.

As fans I do feel like we need to get off his back, get behind him and hope we have a much better season.

Absolutely nothing to be gained from laying into the guy, booing from the first game of the season. Just be fair, even if you don’t agree with the appointment, give him a chance.

I can't forget the Cardiff game.  Taking out 7 or 8 players in anticipation of the Coventry game tells me he knows little about this division as you don't get a massive swing in ease with any game.  He also pretty much dismantled the bit of continuity we had as we should have lost that match by 7 goals and it went downhill from there.

  14. 10 years ago, even in there current state , someone would have bought this club in the knowledge that promotion was likely one way or the other in couple of years.  Size of club and higher levels of gate receipts, tv money, sponsorship and good old pull for a better standard of player counted.  Now Bournemouth can hang around in this division for 3 years with a 70 million wage bill for 2 years and not be arsed. West Brom got 78 milion pounds in parachute money for 2 years for example .  Bournemouth will get around 80 mill in 2 years.  Any one looking at Derby will be thinking a 60 mill outlay and a fortune just compete in the top half.  Increased and longer paid parachute money means we are stuffed. There's no incentive to buy any club without parachute payments.
