Oh in that case let’s sack Rooney. In fact burn him alive…

sibley is average, if he played for Reading you wouldn’t be the slightest bit bothered about him playing against you. He needs to work out how to tackle before he does anything else.

Sibley is average right now. He has potential, but there are huge gaps in his game and he does go missing. I don't think even the most ardent Sibley fanboy would have an issue admitting that. What I really struggle with though, is the same people who are fine with leaving out Sibley because he's a bit raw are advocating replacing him with Ravel Morrison. A 28 year old who only has marginally more Championship experience than Sibley. A 28 year old who still gets talked about in terms of his "potential" rather than any achievements. It's utterly insane. Not to mention if we develop Sibley (fat chance under Wayne) he's a good asset at 19. We stand to gain far less (duck all in fact) by developing a 28 year old who leaves every single club he sits on the bench for on a free or has his contract cancelled.

So, a young guy who made a mistake, had lost a parent and was out with the team captain has no chance of redemption.?

he was fit to play, fit to fulfill his contract, got his head down, was contrite, scored a few goals and got on with it.

How is being elevated to a position he didn't previously hold a form of redemption? Personally I don't think it's that important who the captain is, but given that our club obviously puts enough weight on the position to justify sacking someone for gross misconduct if they don't behave properly when given the armband, you have to wonder what kind of example this sets. Break the law, bring the club into disrepute, and as long as you can go 9 months without committing another crime you'll be rewarded. Brilliant.

Love that Hull black on black shirt. Would be wonderful for our third.

"Hull City revealed the Club’s new away kit for the 21/22 season.

Manufactured by Umbro, this blackout kit features a tone-on-tone front stripe with a woven black tonal crest, stylised crew neckline, embroidered diamond, bespoke back neck sign-off with ‘Tigers’ lettering and a dropped hem with side vent detail.

Shorts come in black with tonal side panels and feature an elasticated waistband, gusset for enhanced movement, an embroidered stacked diamond and a two-tone woven club crest.

Completing the kit are the socks which are black with a tonal cuff detail and feature a tonal jacquard stacked diamond and ‘Tigers’ lettering, a cotton footbed, elastic cuff and instep cool zone technology.

The kit is proudly sponsored by principal club partners Giacom, while On Line Group feature as the back-of-shirt sponsors."

This is like reading the menu at one of those daft restaurants that insist on calling their sauces "jus". I particularly like the movement enhancing gusset.

  4. Our terrible, negative fans weren't allowed in the ground last season and couldn't criticise or even boo the poor fragile professional footballers. Those footballers went on to achieve the worst 2nd tier home record in terms of points taken and goals scored in the entire history of the club.

As far as I'm concerned that means one of two things is true. Either our fans are great and you have nothing to worry about, or pressure from the fans is actually a decent motivating factor.

I've had a thought. Stick with me on this one as it may seem far fetched.

What about letting Rooney watch him in training, see how he behaves, speak to previous managers and make a decision.

As fans we could judge him if and when he plays.

Given that half the posters on this forum, including the two Forest fans, would've taken more points than Wayne from our last 15 games, your appeal to authority rings somewhat hollow.

  6. Is this a joke? We have people scoffing at the idea of players like Bladock, Aluko, Stearman on other threads and they've all played 100's of games at this level. The last time Morrison managed to string a few dozen appearances together was 7 years ago and people are talking about giving him a go based on what Rio ducking Ferdinand says. Morrison is a complete and utter fraud. It is absolutely stunning that he still makes a living from the game.

  7. I vaguely remember going around that age. It's too young to really understand much of what's happening, but I liked it because I got to spend time with my dad. I think it's well worth taking him just for the new experience. To be honest the way Derby are at the moment it's a blessing not being able to understand the game.

Wearing a mask is to protect others, not the wearer.

See thread below for a different perspective. I have two friends in this position. Are they just to stay at home the rest of their lives?

There are roughly 250000 people suffering with this disease at any given time in the UK. I don't believe it is feasible to ask the entire population to remain masked indefinitely because of the increased risk to 0.37% of people from the possibility of catching a disease with a mortality rate of 0.5%.

Honestly I don’t think it is rock bottom ,I’m genuinely shocked at what the British public prepared to accept with a shrug of the shoulders ,

this is the man and wider the government that have been and are telling us that if we don’t social distance , wear masks and follow the rules WE  ARE KILLING PEOPLE ,, just let that REALLY sink in whilst doing the exact opposite , I thought the government ministers standing straight faced defending the indefensible lies of Cummings on his actions would be hard to top but no ??‍♂️

It's not even a shrug of the shoulders. From many it's unabashed delight at the curtailing of liberties.

Boris says apology is good end of matter ,,,,,,Genuine question, are we at an all time low in terms of our politicians and government?

I really believe we are but maybe I’m just over egging it ??‍♂️

Blair is tough to beat because of the whole lying to take the nation into an illegal war jape, however Boris is so utterly spineless I could easily see him gleefully charging off to battle at the behest of DC warhawks.

I know a few people that act differently from when they are at work to when they are out drinking socially.

Double standards have been applied to many things Covid related.

Same here. Lots of the "motivationally challenged" are very concerned about all the latest covid developments with regards to their workplace, but a quick glance at their facebook page reveals no such paranoia in their personal time. I wish I could say it was a shock, but I could've hand picked the people who would behave this way.

Despite all the people complaining, not one post was reported.

Because no one actually wants to censor discussion. I'd bet that the people whinging about this would rather that no topics were out of bounds on this forum. The point is only being raised to highlight the hypocrisy of the situation. I can absolutely guarantee that if the right leaning members started to wander into more political posts your mod inbox would fill up very, very quickly.

I agree, but the other pundits seemed to manage it much better, they spoke about the impact of football in general, to Christian and his family and the perspective of the situation they were in, Alex kept referring to herself and how she was feeling, texting her mum and then did it again when they came back on, speaking about how it impacted her etc etc. I just found it bizarre and quite narcissistic.

maybe it’s just me and maybe I’m over analysing it.

I'm not saying you're wrong. You're entitled to your opinion. I just know if I was in her place I wouldn't have a clue what to say. I probably would've panicked a made a joke.

No problem with her messaging her family, did she really need to announce it to the world at a point when a bloke was literally receiving CPR  below her

To be fair it's a crap situation to be left in. You're sat like a lemon in the studio, no one wants to talk about football and everyone already understands the severity and magnitude of the situation. All you can do is deliver pointless platitudes.

I just go on football manager these days as a way to pass the time when I can't be bothered picking up a book. I was thinking of Europa Universalis IV but not sure if that is similar to Kings Crusader 2 (that I tried but didn't have the requisite spare time to really get into).

It's very similar. You can port your save file from Crusader Kings into EUIV. I enjoy CK2, but I know what you mean about the entry barrier. I had to spend hours reading the forums to understand how to play.
