"Latest Derby County news from Derbyshire Live brings you what is happening with Cashin and interest from the Premier League

Brighton and Hove Albion are trying to sign Derby County defender Eiran Cashin before the transfer window closes.

The Premier League side are in talks over a potential deal for the academy graduate after seeing several bids rejected so far.

Derby will only sanction Cashin's departure as long as their valuation is met with the club expected to demand a figure that is north of £3m.

Keeping the defender on a season-long loan could also form part of an agreed switch which would allow Derby to retain one of the brightest young defenders in the Football League as they look to mount a promotion push.

Cashin scored a fine header in the first half of Saturday's thumping 4-2 win at Peterborough United where Paul Warne's side ran riot in the opening 45 minutes against Darren Ferguson's side.

Brighton have forged an excellent reputation for identifying young talent and have had a long-standing interest in the Republic of Ireland under-21 international."

I can't wait until Derbyshire Live becomes Derbyshire Dead.

I don't blame the writers, but the penny pinching barstewards who've stolen our local press.

If say last summer we had filled the squad with players similar to Oduroh and said trust the process, there would have been uproar after 15 games because ultimately the expectation is still there irrespective of the strategy.

    I think the opposite.

Last season was the chance to go in that direction, I believe everyone would have accepted the new reality and got behind the boys regardless.

Once we started bringing in ex prem footballers, and well known Championship players, that increased the fans expectations, alongside the recruitment of a new management team a few weeks later.

I'm not saying the strategy DC went for was right or wrong, but if we'd have gone down the route of playing the kids, I'd suggest our fans would've backed it well beyond 15 games.

  3. I received a phone call an hour before the match, telling me a much loved Uncle had passed away.

Felt like I'd been punched in the gut, and went upstairs to have a quiet moment.

Woke up at 3.30, flipped the radio on to hear it was 1-1, tolerated Dawes for a minute or two, then flew to Belgium to watch the rest of the game.

3 Derby goals in my first 10 minutes of watching was the kind of medicine I needed.

    Thanks Waggy, and Cashin.

You've described the passing accuracy for every player in the squad under Warne's tactics. Back when we knew how to pass it, Thompson was the most reliable in the squad.

    Hold on a second.

    Warne has tactics?

Not a particularly good comment if you consider the owner of our football club. Then again he’s one of our millionaires.

He wouldn't be so stupid as to plough his hard earned into a risky venture that could sink lower than he ever imagined, while trusting a skipper he didn't really know, would he?

But on a serious note, got skeptical about this, as you need to be with any info coming from Russian mouthpieces.

Could be true with all the implications that entails, could be BS.

Probably not the first Russian to be sucked off on a Prigozhin private jet.

Possibly Putin faked his death. It'd explain why Prigozhin would stand down his men voluntarily, as he had to know Putin wouldn't be able to let anyone just walk away like that.

    That's my suspicion too.

Seems a bit soon for revenge, I reckon Putin would make him sweat a bit more.
