Eiran Cashin on bench?

I look forward to Paul Warne saying so much without saying nothing in the post match interview.

Are you really that shocked by it?

We might’ve planned for him to go and planned accordingly for him not to be here for this game.

Cashin might’ve been expecting to go and for any League 1 player, who earns very little in comparison to the contract a PL side would put on the table for you, is going to have some impact. A game out of the first XI to protect you isn’t the worst idea in the world.

For some people, it’s anything to use as a stick to beat Warne with when it isn’t his fault in any way.

Smart team selection.

Cash left out following what must have been a draining few days. He'll have a couple of weeks now to get his head straight again.

Elder seems a better choice than Bradley right now.

Looking forward to seeing Fornah, but talk about tough game to make your debut.

Might need a little bit of luck or individual brilliance to get something from this one.

There’s been no talk about whether during the negotiations with Brighton personal terms were agreed with Cashin. If they were then his head will be all over the place thinking about the cash (excuse the pun) he’s missing out on. Irrespective, what people tend to forget is that in situations like this the players have to agree to the move- they must want it- as they have a contract with the Club. So, suggests for things to get as far as they did that Cash fancied the move. Not that anyone could blame him. However, another reason for his head not to be in the right place today and possibly for a while (?).

Whether they’re agreed or not, he’s going to have an agent who is asking what kind of money he would be getting, even if he hadn’t signed anything he’d have a good idea about how rich he was going to be.

All you have to do is watch one episode of MOTD or SSN for 5 minutes and you’ll see the hype around Brighton. It would be an exciting side to join, even if you are farmed out on loan.

Cashin has said in the past that he felt like a bit of an impostor when he first got in to the side. He felt like he didn’t deserve to be there and was only there because of our troubles during admin. He’s proved himself in a quick space of time but even an extremely strong character would do well to keep up with the speed in which his reputation has improved.

We won’t know how close he really was to leaving yesterday but it’s important we manage him well as a person as well as a player. I think it’s a sensible decision from Warne and Cash will be back starting very soon.
