Like everyone else, I grew up listening to his commentary on the really 'big games'. Will never forget his commentary for our 5-1 win against Germany. RIP John

What a day that was !
I think next home game as a tribute I’m going to wear my market stall T shirt

has all the goal scorers named, except for theirs which says “a German”

Very sad news.

We had Motty on the podcast in 2018, should anyone fancy listening again.

Gave some great anecdotes about Jim Smith, Brian Clough, and his memories of the Baseball Ground - and his son Fred was on with us too.

Brilliant stuff. Really enjoyed that. Never realised Motty's dad was a Derby fan too. So knowledgeable about the Rams, a delightful listen. RIP.

Very sad news. A great commentator regardless of his Rams connection. Condolences to his family if any are on here reading this. He was much loved across the footballing world.

To show his connection with us, here's the great man backing Pride Park to be one of the World Cup stadiums for the 2018 England bid to host the tournament. RIP.
