Seeing as everybody else was watching Dr Doolittle on Christmas Day I decided to finally check out The Platform.

Very dark and superbly well acted. A fairly obvious allegory/condemnation on modern society, but still well done.

I'm not sure I'd say I liked it because films like this I tend to appreciate more than like per se, but I thought it was very well done and worth checking out even if it never quite fulfilled its potential.

A film I recommend to everyone…..at the same time my wife tells them not to watch it…for some reason they tend to listen to her. Dark, thought provoking take on human nature I found it utterly compelling and also disturbing. Perfect Christmas viewing. Tommy Johnson sounds about right!

Don't Look Up

Brilliant acting from a truly stellar cast. Clever script, some very funny parts and an interesting pisstake on Trump and fake news.

I just felt it was a tad too long and it wasn't quite as good as it could have been.

Still pretty good though and I enjoyed it as did Mrs Badger.

I agree. Thought it was great. Not everyone’s cup of tea. Not surprised the media have slated it, it basically takes the piss out of them.

The lost daughter.

Won’t be everyone’s cup of tea and it’s definitely not an action film, but if you like films about real human emotion and relationships, in particular the roles of women and mothers, this is exceptional.

These two are the reason I’ve just signed up to Netflix. Looking forward to seeing them both & will report back?

Last night only wanted a light and shortish film, so watched Murder Mystery, with Adam Sandler & Jennifer Anniston. Funny in places but couldn’t get past them just not coming across as a couple who’d been married for 15 years. Passed the time with a chuckle, which is what I wanted, so 6/10.

Finally watched No Time To Die. Was expecting a slower more emotional story from the snippets of reviews I’d read/heard. Managed to dodge any major spoilers though. Glad I did. Enjoyed it. Less set pieces than a usual Bond, and a change to the normal formula, but seemed a fitting final chapter to Craig’s interpretation. Want to go back and watch them all in order to pickup on key characters and names.
