In your time which player has been (for whatever reason) the biggest disappointment? My obvious answer is Derek Hales, but Lee Morris too due to his injuries

Ditto Derek Hales, first poster on a wall my Dad put up in bedroom; still have nightmares.

    Ravanelli was close though.

  2. Just listening to his post awards night interview on Rams t.v, makes you realise what a top pro and asset he will be to us next year.

Fully expect him to be our leader on the pitch next season, even if he does need the odd rest every now and again. He’s such a class act and speaks so well, he’ll probably always be involved in the industry one way or another when he does retire, but it would be bloody great if he could lead us back up as his swan song.

I’m clearly not done with the kids any more, I don’t get what ‘+3 strong arm emoji’ means.

It doesn’t make any sense on a grammatical or mathematical level.

I’ve got it! Does it means he’s having 3 extra w***s tonight?

Very much suspect it’s a plus 3 points to QPR. That it’s tagged to their classless tweet might just redeem him, if he has someone else managing his twitter account.

In which case, it’s still shocking but as others have suggested in some posts, on opening a tool kit, he wouldn’t be the sharpest tool in there, but a tool nonetheless

Biggest thing for me about the EFL was their total lack of professionalism during the whole process. From their disgraceful statements saying they were "disappointed" that they're own appeal system had found in our favour.

Just think about that for one minute, a professional Trade body that was "disappointed" that one of its members was not punished enough under its own procedure.....all because Rick Parry was terrified of Steve Gibson threatening to sue the EFL if they didn't punish Derby enough.

I hope that if Parry or Gibson ever step foot in Derby they will be given the reception they truly deserve.

Not interested in an apology from Morris, just do the right thing with the stadium, thats all.

Agree with this and @jono it’s time to move on from Mel, all he needs to do is sort the stadium out with Team Derby.

The EFL on the other hand will still be around, so too will no backbone Parry.......for now. As for Gibson, he might have his own problems soon enough; he’ll no doubt be exerting pressure on the spineless bankers in Preston to relent on FFP pretty soon, for it’s going to be interesting otherwise if Boro miss out this season.

Final word on Morris, he will likely go down as an even worse chairman than Maxwell, not because he’s like him in character, purely down to taking us even closer to the brink of existence due to his reckless judgement on transfers, managers, the EFL etc could go on but really, just plain let us live and go man.

He's not going turn down the Everton job and the Man Utd assistants job only to go to Burnley who will almost certainly be a Championship club next season. It'd make no sense.

When he leaves us it'll be for a much better job than Burnley.

What makes me smile, even today, journalists like on Sky, just can’t help but try and tease out some doubt with speculative questioning, when the team has just been relegated.

Rooney impresses me with his no nonsense, I’m here to build the club back up type retorts, it just comes across like in his own mind, he’s totally focused on what he wants to happen. Such commitment with the hand he’s been dealt, has been so commendable, along with the way he’s carried this club.

He really deserves to be given a real chance to move forward, doubt any manager has been shackled so much in modern times.

So want this administration over and Rooney able to move us forward. The bloke needs a break for all he’s put up with.

I actually wonder what we can do with Beilik.

His form has been mediocre and he’s looked a bit sluggish at times since he came back. I’d put a lot of this down to just the way it is when coming back from consecutive ACL injuries.

But when other teams look at him will they offer us much for him as it stands? Will he even want to stay given his previous ambitions? Can we afford to keep him wage-wise?

Its going to be interesting to see how it pans out.

Just said to my lads, would you pay a fee for a twice ACL injured player, but saying that Polish international. Thought he’s looked slower last couple of games, understandable really but fully fit would be class league 1 and played there with Charlton didn’t he? Might stick it for a season, maybe one to decide over mid next season.

Right now, we just need things off the pitch to happen, so both Rooney and player have that decision to make.

  7. Just complete the takeover ?

Rooney stays and given some transfer funds from the likely sale of Bielik and/or Knight, possibly Bird though I hope he’ll stay to see if we bounce back, maybe even Sibley, though league 1 may see him excel.

Build a squad equipped to get us out of league 1, which will mean a few more battlers and a centre forward with some physical presence, along with young hungry kids we already have or from Prem teams with a point to prove.

Fans keep the faith, when they see that happening, we might just get lucky first crack at it. Home will be our fortress, away form will be the challenge.

Good effort Derby, made it to last few games with a small chance.

Absolutely this. Amazing effort at home, where I suspect our home crowd as much as tactics has carried us over the line more than anything, simply because it seems to give our youngsters belief and cranks up pressure on the opposition.

Away from home, even ignoring today’s result, which we did need to win, we just can’t get 0-0. The team tries hard every time but we always leak a goal and never score a fluke or pick a right pass, or simply don’t create our own luck.

Brave effort from this threadbare squad, many other teams wouldn’t have made it this far and their heads would long have dropped.

We need that takeover badly now, just so Rooney can rebuild quickly and not lose any more promising youngsters. We need something positive off the pitch for a change.

Who would have thought it. A 19 yo lad, of modest stature but with a big heart, having the occasional bit of inconsistency in a tough man’s league. Some of the criticism of this lad over recent weeks has been shocking. Sometimes I think perhaps we don’t deserve nice things.

The talent is there, for me right now, he will always look better playing against teams with an open style of play because he’s quick footed and nimble so able to exploit space.

No criticism here but up against bruisers of the division such as Millwall, he struggles with the lack of space and added physical side; it’s all part of his education though. Reminds me of when we had a young Barry Bannan on loan, he could emulate and better that career in time, with the right coaching.

After what he witnessed tonight, I'd be amazed if he didn't just say: "sod the due diligence, pass me my cheque ('check' - American sp.) book"

After tonight, if he didn’t realise it already we are a very special club, with very special fans

Get the ground sorted with Mel and whoever, then get C.K to whop his wad on the table.

End our misery and move forward.

I don't think now is the time to tell us to calm down, we've been waiting for something to be happening for ever!

Back to reading this thread after switching off for weeks, then realising after 30 pages it’s still not done and dusted, too many others have it in for us and maybe just don’t read it until it’s all announced; somehow, something tells me it still won’t be an easy or even palatable ending.

Curtis running on to a through ball and beating someone for pace was not part of the plan…….getting his head on the end of a cross mind…….

Do get the point of the thread, we need something to change away, I’d still say this is a last 10-20 minutes throw of the dice and bring Stearman on though. We also don’t have to be losing to do it, we need 3 points at Swansea.

And all the time the value of the club goes down.

Which is a perfect scenario if you want to get the club on cheap, same goes for the ground. The power is with any potential buyers right now.

Q wanted a bidding war, unfortunately as our chances of championship survival get slimmer, it’s more like a reverse auction, with the bids getting cheaper. Highly doubt they will get much future business, after the “pigs ear” they have made of this process; as I’ve said elsewhere though, they are not to blame for the situation we’re in, just ineffective in fans ambitions to remain in this division.

Another reason not to invest your money if you were a potential buyer - what a terrible state of affairs

Or just wait until you can get the cheapest possible deal and build again; someone like Ashley would think that way, without any emotional attachment to the existing playing squad.

Only Mel is to blame for the current state of affairs, others haven’t helped, but Mel set all the wheels in motion against us.
