I get the feeling it will be us or Reading on the final day.

Would take that, Reading are under performing but if they fail to beat Peterborough, their confidence will further ebb. That’s a massive game for them.

8 wins might do it.  Will be tough.  Get 2 more and this team can say we wouldn't have gone without deduction.  Get them 6 points points and take it from there.

Agree on that 6 points but this team can win any and every game at home for the rest of the season, we’ve already shown that.

Keep picking up 3 points at home, we just need a odd away result, Saturday will be tough, but no worse than Fulham, West Brom, Stoke etc. Bielik is getting more match fit. Keep him truly fit, we are just going to get better, his game management is superb.

Cowan-Dickie has just cost England the game.

Yup, the game plan for England wasn’t perfection but it was effective until that point.

Possession was theirs, territory was theirs, a score in front against a resurgent Scotland at Murrayfield, that one piece of play cost them. So obvious now, that he would have been better letting them score if needs be, there was no guarantee of a conversion out wide to start with. As for the referee, sure he needs chastising but rugby has long had the mentality, you don’t argue with the referee, you get on with the game. Cowan-Dickie just had a brain fart under pressure I’m afraid.

Got tickets for the England v Wales game, which could now define their 6 nations. Hopefully a comfortable win against Italy, with Wales playing Scotland next, a win would boost them after a hiding to nothing in Dublin, defeat will further deflate them. Scotland should be relishing taking on Wales next game.

    Cant wait for it now.

Well this is good news. I’m sure there will be a meeting in a dimly lit Tesco car park tonight between Rick and Steve( after the Utd game) to discuss how the EFL can “Refuse “ this offer.

Whilst loving Mel’s challenge (at last), maybe he needed the EFL to make their position clear, before coming out fighting.

Does concern me they will do something similar to your suggestion, along the lines they are pursuing the debt against Derby County F.C for football breaches; not Mel Morris as an individual.

Are the administrators actively trying to shut us down now?

What possible financial advantage is there in this to the club?

Do they have any say in this?

Pre contract, he’s free end of season, this has more to do with an agent and Festy agreed.

Gutted but can’t blame the admins here, other than for the delay; afraid only Mel the real culprit here. He should’ve either been tied down longer or we shouldn’t have been in this position in the first place.

Again except if they're any good they'd be better sold when they've shown more and we're higher up the league/Prem. ?

Just to add to our chat….

or before their contracts wind down. Ebosele is the most disappointing one now leaving for me, he could be anything right now, we’ve only seen a glimpse but wish he could have stuck around more years like Hughes. ?

You can't beat a happy ending...... but in all seriousness Tom will want to resurrect his international career and i don't see him doing that with us especially if we drop a division.

Agree with that but we can worry about it when it happens. @RoyMac5is probably right if we do go down.

That's crazy if true. As a someone who solves organizational problems for living, I expected this sort of use of power and organizational silence to disappear when Mel left.

But no. The drinking sessions, poor communication, lack of vision etc etc seem to be bloodied in our club's culture, no matter who is in charge. I've rarely met so sick and unprofessional organization and I've seen a lot.

Rooney said it on Radio Derby straight after the game, maybe he shouldn’t with emotions high after a game, but it’s out there now and he’s put the Quantama mob right under the spotlight with it.  You can park all the 2nd sentence in my mind, Rooney has taken our standards up a notch many thought unlikely but leaving a manager in the dark so much he publicly outs you, a conversation is bound to follow.

Going to be interesting what the follow up to this revelation brings. If they don’t keep Rooney onside, I’m sure we’ll all find out fairly quickly.

You can’t expect a lad who’s next contract could be the biggest in his career to possibly risk it all in league 1.  I think he’s shown respect in not forcing a jan move. We need to let him go and not hold him back, same with Knight.

You only have to go back 3 or 4 pages to see some of the comments as to why he’s entitled to move.

Football is a fickle game at times, opinions change so quickly. Toms gone from so many piling in and slating him, to almost hero status in a few months.

I’m just pleased he’s proven a few people wrong, he might not be on it 90 minutes, every game, but without him we’d be sunk and almost out of it by now. Whenever he goes, I just hope it’s with an happy ending.

To be fair, this doesn’t sound like a bad deal…

How many kids genuinely go on and make it? Most fade into obscurity, Often letting the fame of a move like this go to their heads.

This one doesn’t upset me like Plange does.

    Same page as you.

However, if the manager only gets to know by text, rather than a reasoned discussion and agreement, it’s bad form by those suits running the club right now.

I don’t want to be negative, but we are on  bad run and will be missing a Lot of players.
need a could of wins to give us some hope.

Hope was Bielik scoring in added time, same for Curtis at Reading or we would be 3 points more behind them.

Lets see who’s fit, backing of our excellent home support, lift whatever team is on the pitch. We’re paper thin but have good players, all we can do is spur them on and hope is they give themselves a chance to execute the pre match plan; last 2 games we haven’t.

Keep the faith, IF we beat Hull things will look better.

Wafer thin squad really showing now. We’re still better than Barnsley, Peterborough & reading. We got to keep on fighting.

And believing, we’re not down yet by a long way. Keeping Reading within sight needs a win against Hull. Boro could be anything But couple of home wins against Peterborough and Millwall achievable.

Next game is a momentum builder and they’ll need a vocal home crowd right behind them.

Keep the faith and cheer them on.

At £5m per year running costs, the average player sold needs to be for about £500k.
Delap, Gordon, Kellyman, Williams, Sharpe, Kaba and Scanlon were considered the best in their age groups, raising £5m combined. Getting £500k for the average scholar therefore is a tough ask and not sustainable.

Yes, as I said ideally we wouldn’t have our pants pulled down for Gordon etc.

For balance to that, you would offset the cost to buy any of our first team youngsters on the open market, I know it’s hypothetical right now, we can’t buy anyway. Those youngsters though are saving us a fortune in transfer fees, or rather could do in the future.

Maybe, Gordon looked a steal for Liverpool so in his case, I get that argument, but Williams was decent but no guarantee of getting miles better, no more than Whittaker who looked great academy level, didn’t really break through with ourselves, sold to a championship rival, some thought cheaply but he’s now at Lincoln.

You can spin it so many ways, the main thing is we create as good a future for these young lads, find them careers here or elsewhere, then we continue to become a much sought after academy, that attracts and develops talent, whilst at the same time having a successful self funded business model.

Oh and we enjoy watching their careers and benefit on the 1st team pitch from it sometimes. Whats not to like ?

Except the crucial point being we aren't able to choose which ones we want to keep!

Sure. I’d see that as temporary though, given our current financial state. No reason to expect that forever with a solid financial platform, should we avoid liquidation of course ?

Ive not really disagreed with any of the current departures of our youngsters, with the possible exception of Plange; only because I think Rooney is right, he’d possibly have benefited with another12 months here.
