Formation ? Set up ? Don’t think it comes into it tonight , warne has to pick what he feels is his best eleven and send them out to batter them from the first whistle to the last and the instruction no matter what just ducking win and the players need to really want to do that for him ,they are good enough to sort it out once over the white line ,,,, sometimes needs must and it’s that simple , we see lesser players do that to us all too often 🤷🏻‍♂️

Are you suggesting that Warne doesn’t normally send out what he feels to be his best 11, and that the players haven’t been fighting at their best for their manager this season?

I was Warne in right until this last few games. We're just not seeing any improvement against teams who are happy to keep the game tight and make it a physical encounter. Until we can roll these teams over we're going nowhere.

44 points from the last 31 games in Division 3 (since 1 Feb) is unacceptable for this club.

You are a bellwether 😉 l saw a few very pro-Warne posters turning yesterday but you currently top my defection list. We are at a tipping point, and only a few successive wins now I think can save Warne. He probably knows it too.

  3. Personally, I would now give Warne 10 days to evidence he can galvanise and organise his dressing room combatants to produce 9 points from the next 3 games. 7 might be sufficient if we play in a more attractive style, but frankly Exeter, Stevenage and Northampton should not be a difficult run of fixtures to get maximum points if he selects the right team and plays to the players strengths. If he persists with his current tactics, win%, deluded after-match analysis, etc., we should be looking to appoint a new manager for the Crewe game.

Feels a bit distasteful given what is going on in the world today, however it is time for my annual topic on fireworks.

    It's October 16th.

The dog is petrified hiding in the bathroom. Shut the seat to hide the skiddys.

Ban the public sale of fireworks ffs!

Does the Mrs make you kneel on that plinth to take a piss?

  5. Sorry to read this. I remember him pretty well on the pitch, because occasionally he did some magic things. I remember him better as a Landlord of one of my locals, when I used to live in Haywards Heath. Great character, and kept a good beer. RIP Gerry 🐑

For me, Derby is a craphole. It has become worse over time. The city centre is ugly apart from one small area the cathedral quarter and sadler gate. Outside of this is dreary, with either a despairing or aggressive atmosphere. The theatre is in an all but abandoned part of an indoor shopping centre. The assembly rooms stands empty on the edge of the most boring and featureless market place. There are hardly any decent restaurants, few independent shops and derbion is soulless. We've not opened up the river in a pleasant way and the river gardens are not safe. We blocked the view of St Mary's Church from some approaches with a ghastly hotel.  It is badly planned and increasingly barren.  All that is being built are apartments and university buildings that dont seem sustainable.  There is little to do there.  It looks like a town in recession. Its in a hideous spiral of decline. Sadly, I'd prefer to be in almost any other city. For me, its only saving graces are DCFC, its proximity to the  Derbyshire countryside and the people i love. So, in your view, why isn't it a craphole?

…. and it’s for that reason you had no choice but to resign as Head of Tourism for Derby City Council.

I agree that mid-table would be disappointing, and I do think that this squad can achieve top 8. Anywhere between 5th and 8th would be acceptable and achievable if the players can find some consistency.

I think you must be on the wind up if you think finishing 7th or 8th would be acceptable this season.  Is there anyone else on here that considers this would be acceptable this season?

Why stop at a Mazda. Lets take out a loan and go with something new straight from the factory. If the new car doesn't get us where we want to go. We can always refinance and go with something sporty. If we're still lagging behind lets go all in and re-mortgage the house to buy the best car we can.

Oh wait, I'm sure we've try this before and if memory serves correctly. This strategy nearly cost us dearly.

So you have just made up a scenario you can get enraged about? Good work.

It does seem though that some are son entrenched in their views, more so the negative ones, that it’s almost like they’re looking for something, no matter what it is.  We could win 5-0 and there’d be something to moan about, either in the match a phrase Warne uses in his interview.  It’s like when you just signed the paperwork on that Vauxhall Astra at Available Car and it the feels like that at every traffic lights and roundabout on your way home you’re behind a Vauxhall Astra.  You forget about the hundreds of other cars you’ve seen.  Because it’s what you’re looking for, it’s what you see.

I do see, and mostly agree with the point.

I'm just not sure the second hand Vauxhall Astra we have secured has got quite the right spec., certainly for a 4 year finance deal. Indeed I would suggest that although badged as an SE, our model is a little more basic than we might have hoped for, and is struggling to adapt to a different type of environment. The steer is a little heavy and restrictive, and there seems to be problems getting it out of 3rd gear. Lets be honest, its not a pretty car either, although I accept beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Now, that all said it is far too early to be categoric it's not going to do its job. Its a solid, broadly dependable car, and perhaps if its ultimate owner could give it a home start service, it will become a lot more desirable not unlike its performance when warmed-up on longer travels. Perhaps an oil change too, for smoother transition. A bit of tinkering here and there might just be enough, and I think the vast majority of us hope the same. However, personally, I think its nice to dream that perhaps before the 4 years are out our fortunes are such that we might be eager to seek an an upgrade, hopefully something a little more modern and nippy. Something not too disimmilar maybe from that Mazda MX5 we had before. Risky car that, not everybody's type I acknowledge, but I do think it might have given us a bit more fun and reward if we had held on to it a bit longer.
