May I say that @OwenB87 commentary was very good tonight.

Not afraid to leave pauses whilst the ball is in play. Mr Edworthy complements him well too.

Well done to both of you.

The studio seems a lot brighter too. I don’t know if it’s lit differently or my device was set too low last time.

I believe in giving praise as well as criticism.

Well done to the RamsTv team.

    Virgin Media want punching.

When we got home on Tuesday, there was no WiFi and no TV at chez Eddie, so I rang them up and reported it. They said that it was a 'known problem' and would be fixed the next day.

So I rang them on Wednesday and I got a recording which said that repairs on issues affecting my postcode were taking 'a little longer than usual because of their complexity.

So I rang them yesterday and they said 'after running further tests, we need to send an engineer out to test your equipment. The earliest we can make it is Monday'.

So they are booked in to check my equipment on Bank Holiday Monday, when we were planning on going out. I bet they don't even turn up.

I had similar issues and moved to Mature Media. Not so exciting, but you can’t beat experience.

  3. I realise l may have just perhaps opened this thread to the possibility of water related punning.

In a desperate rush to keep it on track, l update that l have had a bad period recently with anxiety. Not unusual for me to suffer from anxiety and work related stress in truth - something l have had to cope with from time to time for c20 years.  This time round though l couldn’t tell you what the trigger has been.  Anyway, I was telling my hairdresser a few of my symptoms the other day - as you do when you have no holiday ahead you can talk about - and he suggested l look at chronic hyperventilation syndrome. He wondered if my breathing might be a part of the problem.  Early days, but have since been working on a few breathing techniques and it seems to be helping.

Boycie and l have hopefully helped a few here now - the intake of water and air is sooooo underrated.

    Sincere best wishes to all.

Hey, little tip,  I was going through what seemed low period recently just when the good weather started,

Which was weird, as I thought I benefited from good sunshine as I suffer a bit in winter.

Anyrode, I then started with weird headaches, eye pain and generally feeling meh.

    Turns out I was dehydrated!

I looked back and thought about how much actual water only I’d been taking on and it was hardly anything.

Is well known that your guts have a lot to do with your mood.

(ask my family after Ive farted!)

no, seriously, look into it, same goes for wheat and dairy for me too. Felt loads better after reducing and finally cutting it all out.

@David drinks smart water, which I always think is ironic.

    Silly you, it’s isotonic.

May, Corbyn or Cable - what a lucky electorate we are. Hope all is good with you buddy.

What I neglected to add is any opinion or notes about the beers.

All are brewed by Brouwerij Van Steenberge, a brewery just north of Ghent, hence the box set. I had heard of Lidl stocking these boxes for about the last 3 years, but this is the first time I have been fortunate to be in a shop at the same time as the beer. So here goes...

Gulden Draak - the colour resembles dark honey or caramel. It is highly carbonated and forms a luscious, thick white head with good lacing. The taste is malty, fruity (think plums, raisins, cherries) with a hint of banana and clove - typical of Belgian yeasts. It is an utterly world-class beer.

Gulden Draak 9000 Quadrupel - basically a slightly maltier version of the above, a little lighter in colour too but equally magnificent. A little more complex - the secondary fermentation uses a champagne yeast. Although both are labelled as 10.5%, the Quad actually tastes a little stronger.

Bornem Dubbel - a typical Belgian Dubbel Abbey beer - dark brown and very lively. One of the best beers to use (in my opinion) if you are making a Flemish stew - or any sort of stew, for that matter. The usual dubbel flavours are there - fruit, demerara sugar etc. I'm not going to praise this beer to the rafters, but it is definitely ok, and it compares favourably to the more readily available Leffe Brune, and the hoppy aftertaste is much better. Like Leffe Brune though, it tastes a bit 'thin'.

Bornem Tripel - again, typical of the style for a Belgian Abbey Tripel - amber or straw-coloured, lively with a big head. The taste is apple, pineapple, a nice citrus tang that lasts for ever and which is perhaps more typical of a witbier as opposed to a tripel. Definitely an entry-level tripel. Not bad.

Piraat - an amber beer that actually looks more English than Belgian - but there any resemblance ends. Beautifully balanced between malt and hops, it is absolutely full of complex fruit flavours and has a long, hoppy after-taste. I love this beer.

Piraat Triple Hop - I must confess that I have never tried this beer at all (yet). I read on the brewery's website that hops are added three times (once in the boil and then twice dry-hopped) and there are actually 4 types of hop (saaz, tetra, aurora and cascade). I'm pretty sure it will have citrus/grapefruit notes from the cascade which will complement the maltiness (it seems to be the same grainbill as Piraat).

All of them would seem like they might taste better with a splash or two of Lemonade.

I wouldn’t like to diagnose footballers with mental health issues based off form, but the Billy Kee interview is a reminder if you ever needed one that footballers are real people that are not immune from these kind of issues.

Money can only do so much.

Fair point David. It was not my intention to suggest a direct correlation. More a clumsy observation for many to spare the thought that footballers are only human.

Short but interesting piece from Billy Kee.  I wonder how many footballers struggle with anxiety?  I wonder if our own Vydra has had a few issues in the past given a few comments by Rowett about keeping him positive and confident.  Fans currently on Lawrence’s back (inside the ground) might wonder for a few moments whether there actions might not be helping the player.

l always read this thread. Had a few issues myself (fortunately) in the distant past. Don’t post my thoughts, but do always wish everyone well.

My first day back at work tomorrow having been off for 2 months.

Have felt the anti depressants have been working but getting real feelings of anxiety right now, almost like having pins and needles all over.

Trying to take my mind off it so will probably post some rubbish on here, hopefully I won't offend anyone, if I do apologies in advance.

Hope all goes well tomorrow Paul. Anxiety is understandable all things considered.  Don’t get worrying about posting rubbish on here tonight either. I really doubt anyone will notice any discernible change in your posting quality.
