Their local journo says we still hold an interest. I find it interesting Charlton have had a bid accepted 2 weeks ago but the deal hasnt been finalised.

Player obviously waiting to see if any bigger/better clubs along ….

ooh, like DCFC….👍

Scored 20 goals in a poor Cheltenham team, for 200k he is well worth the gamble imo.

Scored against us, Ipswich, Plymouth, Sheff W, Wycombe & Peterborough so can do it vs the top teams in the league whi h who we struggled against last season.

Some brilliant & clinical finishes in the below video of his goals last season.

What’s there not to like ??

I’d love love is to be in for him …

Alongside another striker who can hold the ball up and bully defenders I think we would be on to a winner…

Got to be worth a gamble …

Looks an ideal signing. Busy, intelligent footballer with some pace. Scored some great goals last season out of nothing. Think he would be a perfect foil for a bigger target man in a 3-5-2. Hopefully some truth to this!

I suspect that when the deal is completed for Beilik, a striker for a fee will be incoming shortly after.  If May's fee is around 300k, the money saved on Beilik's before the end of the transfer window, would pay for it, nevermind any fee received for him.

I like him. I'm not fussed at all about his aerial duel stats, he's a midget and will play 10 not 9 anyway. Something quite striking was the percentage of goals on last season's showreel that were spontaneous, or of his own work. Some tap-in's too, but this is a guy who can score even if the team around him isn't on fire and he can do it inside, or outside the box and with either foot.

He's also permanently in motion, with or without the ball, so even when not directly involved, he'll still stretch back 4's. Hard to tell how quick he is, but he reacts rapidly enough and does not look slow. I'd wager he's a nightmare to defend against at this level and some of those goals match up to Didzy's best. Honestly, I'd be very pleased to see him at PP, though the deal must be right for the club. I sense that might be the only thing preventing it at the moment, which would be a shame.

Everyone is waiting for his beard to grow so he'll be eligible to sign for us.

If we had a striker that had done that here last season we'd be saying he's worth at least 5m.

Fee itself will go to Arsenal but the wages in themselves would pay for the striker around £250-300k

No. From DET 28.10.22

According to analysis from football finance expert Kieran Maguire, the companies in administration owed £25m in taxes but HMRC took a 75% cut, receiving £6m. The club's football creditors, owed a total of £8.9million, were paid in full

Arsenal were one of the football creditors. What we owed them was paid by Clowes as part of the purchase price. So any fee we now receive for Bielik is effectively new money. I don't know on what basis you get to £250-300K for the saving on his wages either. We know he is contracted for one more year so 52 weeks. £300K divide 52 is 5,769 a week. I think its safe to assume Bielik is on a lot more than that. Maybe you are factoring in using some of the money to pay a fee and then the rest to pay the new players wages. Hard to see how you can be so precise though as you don't know either how much Bielik is actually on or how much we would pay this new player. But that internet 'experts' for you who like to make statements as if they were facts

Apparently signed for Charlton two weeks ago according to a few on here.

Anyway………..pre season training at Cheltenham on Friday

………...read 1 reply.👍😁

Fee was agreed with Charlton 2 weeks ago, but the fact its not concluded suggests that the player is holding out for somebody else. Whether that's us or not is yet to be seen.

I think it depends on whether all future instalments due to Arsenal would have been included in the club’s football creditors at the time of administration. They weren’t actually due at that time but I would imagine, when a company goes into administration, future commitments are also included within the companies total creditors (not my specialist subject). Or if the new owners were allowed to take this on as a future (rather than current) debt. A number of sensible (IMO) folk on this forum seem to assume the latter to be the case.

The total owed included future payments, as well as potential add-ons such as promotion to the PL. Upon exiting admin, payment schedules were honoured and not paid upfront.

Is there actually anything solid linking us to this guy ? (Id love him at Derby...) or is it all just wishful thinking as all ive seen recently is fake twitter accounts and people adding things like what curtis said earlier and getting carried away?

Yes, Cheltenham’s local newspaper journo linked us to him back in May. He’s their equivalent of Leigh Curtis;
