It's not even rumours where we have been linked, just some random bloke writing an article saying hey Derby could sign these on loan if they wanted to.

Hey, why don't we sign Mbappe?

I was trying to be kind to Oldben and his c&p ?

Not a bad shout in league one to be fair. Not 30 til next month so something like an 18 month deal wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Won’t sign for us till the summer then as he’s not 30 or older get him signed in February as a 30 year old free agent

Quality under 30's available on a free and willing to play in League 1 are pretty rare to come by in January.

Until this embargo or business plan whatever you want to call it is lifted, it's going to be difficult building a team for the future.

I don't think we should be spending a penny on fees whilst stuck in the 3rd Division, personally.

If we're outperforming the agreed business plan, we should be using that money to reduce the owners ongoing spending commitments, not splashing the cash on signings.

It should be perfectly possible to build a promotion capable squad without spending a single penny over and above what we bring in through ticket sales, EFL money, player trading and commercial activities.

Recruitment should really be focused on the summer, thanks to the Bosman ruling we should be an attractive proposition to players entering the last few months of their contract now, that should be our focus.

Even in League One, we're averaging 25k crowds, we shouldn't underestimate the pull we have for players in the pool we're fishing in, most of which haven't played regularly in front of such numbers.

Big crowds, central location, great facilties, and lots of history, and the fact £5k a week goes a bit further in Derby than Charlton, Milton Keynes, Oxford or Cheltenham, makes us a pretty decent destination for a lot of players unsure of their future.

But only £780k a year from Sky . A pathetic amount compared to £140 million to the worst Prem teams. Barnsley have just borrowed striker from Cardiff - Max Watters -one goal in 21 Championship games , but 18 goals in 20 games in Div 1 . Just showing the drop in class from one league to another.

Who did he play for in league 1 (except for something like 11 games at MK Dons)?
