This game hasn’t been the problem.

Yep we’ve got a terrible situation and bad luck, but in the first half of the season we did well and gave ourselves hope.

But our form has dropped, injuries small squad, youngsters and some questionable starting line ups have snuffed the hope out sadly!

That we came this close is astounding - You have to remember that in the first half of the season the squad, albeit threadbare and small, was stronger than it is now. Couldn't be prouder of what they've done.

As per most of the away games, absolutely toothless and dire. Credit to Wayne for keeping us going this far. HOWEVER, he really needs to up his game concerning the away performances, absolutely shocking away form. How the hell he hasn't managed a couple more away wins? All we needed was a few to stay up.

Id rather look at it as we have overperformed at Pride Park and Rooney has pulled off an incredible points return at home considering the lack of quality in the squad.

10 away defeats on the spin… you can forget your points deductions, that’s just pathetic really. You don’t stay up like that.

That said, relegation was always inevitable irrespective because of Mel Morris. Painful for it to be confirmed, though it was really over after Coventry a few weeks back IMO.

All things considered.  21 point deduction, ever decreasing squad. All the poo that is going on in the back ground. Having to play youth most games I guess you would blame the only man who has had the dignity to stick around and give it a go. Well done you

Ironic it had to be QPR...

1-0 in the final few minutes at Wembley prevent us from going up and set us on this path.  Final few minutes today send us down.

Ah well, assuming the takeover completes we dust ourselves down and enjoy the journey back.  COYR

It was written wasn't it. Poetic. It's gone full circle.

Rubbish, Without the points deduction, even with those 10 game losses on the spin away from home we'd still be miles clear of relegation.

Mel Morris has relegated us, not Rooney, not the players...Mel!

Oh dear. Should have taken what we'd got.

And Lawrence has gone.

Absolutely. RD kept saying ‘a draw isn’t good enough, should we just go for it and stick a defender up front’, but a draw would’ve been good enough. Our last 3 games are winnable, readings are losable. Even with reading drawing now, it would come down to a straight shoot out in those last 3 games. If Swansea had held on, we would’ve had the breathing space of allowing reading a draw in one of the last 3. A draw wouldn’t have been a terrible result.

now it’s all academic. Watch us win the last 3 now, and reading lose, then we’ll see how a point today wouldn’t have done us any good. Grrrr!!!

Anybody saying the away form killed us - you can’t expect that amount of youth to adapt to Championship football that quickly. Playing away is totally different to playing at home, especially with a thin bare squad.

Rooney has done an unbelievable job and without his hands tied, I fully trust him to bring in players who will smash league one next season.

No time for feeling down and deflated- it’s time to roll our sleeves up and prepare as a football club to come straight back up.
