The problem with any deal is Mel Morris, he still has us all by the balls because any buyer will need to buy PP.

Not sure of your reasoning on this at all.

All the prospective buyers are all interested in buying the stadium. They do not have to. And Morris does not have us by the balls. If anything the other way around  .. as landlord he won’t want to lose his biggest tenant.

Not true that any buyer will need to buy PP. If the leasehold interest in the stadium is transferable and acquired by the new owner we can carry on playing at PP. I accept it is far from ideal to not own the ground, and I agree it would put off most if not all from buying the Club.

Bristol City and EFL: “Discussions are still being held to establish whether forecast transfer revenue can be included, along with ticket sales, as an “add-back”, with City to seek independent auditors and transfer experts to determine the full figure, which is deeply subjective.”

Using auditors to determine a notional (ie fantasy) loss of ticket revenue and player sales that they want EFL to include in their profit/loss calculation for FFP. How convenient.

I would like to offer my independent expert opinion, relying on the evidence of the ever-correct Professor Pope, and say that the amount of potential transfer revenues you are allowed to include in your accounts is in fact: zero, zilch, nada, nowt, nuffing, sod-all, and for the avoidance of doubt £0.00.

The Derby administration cycle:

News outlets report buyer imminent. Good news day.

Day after Percy and Nixon say nothing close then a random news article appears saying we’re in dead lumber.

2 days later..The administrators say they’re confident of a buyer within 48 hours. Good news day.

Radio silence for a week and on the pitch we carry on with status quo. The forum becomes more of a Wild West than usual.

Silence is broken by more doom and gloom from Nixon and co.

Day later Rooney reveals in his presser that this week is the week and we’re up for the fight.

And repeat.

Professor Pope gave his unqualified opinion. Ie an opinion he is not qualified to give as he has never in his life been a practising auditor.

We'll, he's either correct, in which case Bristol City can do one. Or he's wrong, in which case we'll have all of our points back, and compensation for 2+ years of mis-applied transfer sanctions etc...

The potential for other clubs getting into trouble is why we have to keep fighting to pick up every point right up to the end of the season - just in case !!

The guy sorting out the fixture lists for 22/23 is either rubbing his hands in glee at the prospect of having his system really tested or throwing his hands up in horror at the thought of having several clubs who might be in either league 1 or the championship. Or both.

MM has us by the balls?

But the admins’ latest statement said that MM was ‘aligned’ with them ...? So it sounds more like they’re stroking each others’ balls

The article suggests that it is more likely to be next season and beyond that other clubs have difficulty.

We might be the only club in the championship next year without a points deduction.
