Carnero
20 minutes ago, Spanish said: guessing the default event is however long the non payment is for? Like you say if the club has negotiated a deal with the HMRC why should they be interested? Seems odd that we are either the only club to have not paid or we are the only club being punished for it. I am also confused as to why it hasn't been paid by now I am assuming that we've agreed a payment plan with HMRC over deferred PAYE, like many clubs will have done... but that we have then defaulted on one or more of those payments. We won't be the only club in the entire EFL that is behind with payments to HMRC, but we may be the only one that has defaulted on an agreement with HMRC. Wonder if after window is closed that you could offer an unpaid (shop window) arrangement to out of contract players who would not be able to do anything until jan.? Probably EFL would reject it too anyway? The transfer window for a free agent is in March/April, I believe, as long as they became a free agent during the actual transfer window. It still comes back to there was apparently a reason for the default but not for it continuing.

atherstoneram
Maybe it's more than just HMRC,i would imagine there are outstanding monies owed to Cocu and his assistants as well as Keogh in which a payment plan is possibly in place. If that is the case and the club has defaulted on those then that would be of interest to the EFL
The Scarlet Pimpernel
The thing that is stopping us completely at the moment is the EFL stance on the Chorley game in that they currently class our kids as being of professional standard as they played due to the first team and most senior U23's having Covid. We have asked the EFL to relax their stance due to exceptional circumstances. We wait, like the club, with bated breath................
May Contain Nuts
From the earlier reading: "When a Club reports a Default Event to The League...." so it's another one of those things the EFL just expect you to tell them, not something they have any way of monitoring themselves (I wouldn't expect them to) until published accounts come out. Would anyone be surprised if other clubs haven't defaulted on payments but have 'neglected' to inform the league as they're not currently under scrutiny, hoping/expecting that the EFL will fail to ever even notice, or are crossing their fingers won't really give a poo about unless combined with other issues? RamsFan10
Robsion-Kanu, Niasse, Wickham, Kachunga, Graziano Pellé (formerly of Southampton)... possibly all better or as good an option as Baldock. Say it quietly but Giles Barnes is also available on a free, and we've seen how well the last international nomad who left English football a while ago has done here (although Barnes hasn't scored a professional goal in two years)
