Awful challenge by Lawrence, but the refereeing during that whole situation was horrific. Ref just stands at the side spectating.

The Ref can’t be blamed for anything to do with the red card even without any reaction from the players Lawrence should have been sent off.

Watched on the feed - yes annoying but not a wrist slashing day - In Bogle, Timori, Mount we have real quality and Bogle should be joining them in the young England squads. Lovely moment from Holmes to chase back into our penalty area and make an important tackle.

Daft moment for Lawrence but he’d looked our best attacker until then.

Penalty was soft but fozzy also off balance and full credit to Frank for making three attacking subs after going down to 10 men.

Tom H and Marriot looked short of minutes, love Mason B’s determination but didnt fall for him this time.

Look at the table - all very tight, days like this just part of the championship experience - and also credit to Rotherham’s Nigerian international centre back Ayaji

We got what we deserved today, so poor.

Never a red for me, silly tackle yes..... thought the reaction got him sent tbh, also never a pen in a million years for me.

Thought the ref was reactive rather than proactive and though out. That’s coming from the biggest defender of officials you can get.

Onwards and upwards, I’m sure some “journo(s)” on here are rejoicing that Lawerence is now out for 3 games.

Much love

Nice one Bob. Was afraid I was viewing things through my black and white goggles again. Was unimpressed with the handling of the Leeds and Millwall games (without thinking that the results were necessarily affected) but I thought the match officials today were dire. If you're saying as much then it's clearly not just me being a poor loser!

Thought it was a red, however there were a few tackles flying in that provoked the reaction that had the red done his job properly would have stopped It going that far. He should hold his hands up, and move on, anyone who has played football can lose their head once on a while, it’s good to see some aggression however on this occasion slightly over zealous.

The sending off didn’t cost us the game, we were pants all over, we seem to struggle without Nugent at the moment, the ball doesn’t stick up top and we aren’t coherent enough, early days yet though.

We aren’t playing/don’t have the players to play it out from the back. The defence potentially could but it’s the midfield. We don’t have anybody who can play in the pockets and move the ball through the thirds nor do we have a controller.

The change to 4-2-3-1 hasn’t helped. To play it out from the back in a 4-2-3-1 you need mobile full-backs who link up well with their wingers and tidy and energetic midfielders, the latter of which we don’t have.

If we don’t find a better balance in midfield I think we’ll end up having to revert to Rowettball.

Need a more energetic Johnson that’s better on the ball. That was the one move I wanted in the loan window and sadly didn’t happen. Johnson is as good as we have in that role but it’s not exactly ideal.

Have watched both incidents four times now looking through my referee eyes.....the tackle was silly and could have been a yellow on another day....the penalty was never one, if you are giving those you are giving five or six a game plus lots of freekicks all around the pitch.

Truth is that Josey and Lawrence need to get in the game more. It’s a team game and we need a more cohesive midfield. The odd touch of magic is great but we need 90 min performances....

I used to like Josey Lawrence in 'Whose line is it anyway?'. Never saw her as a midfielder though...

Thought the defence as a whole played well and did well to deal with the aerial barrage of Rotherham.

Bogle was my man of the Match, a superb performance by him, especially after Lawrence got sent off. Keogh and Tomori played well and I think Forsyth also played well although I didn't see what happened for the penalty clearly.

The midfield balance was wrong and none of attackers got into the game. Marriott was an improvement over Waghorn as was Bennett over Jozefzoon.

That Lawrence tackle was absolutely stupid from him. As soon as he did I said that the only reason for him not to be sent off was if the ref bottled it, which he didn't.

Lampard knew exactly what he was doing when he got sent off and I applaud him for telling the linesman some home truths. That linesman was appalling all game and if he'd been half as proactive as his counterpart on the other side of the pitch we'd have had a penalty for handball.

Also, we have some absolute cretins in our fan base. Some lad threw a chair from the top of the stand and it hit some poor lady on the back of the head. She had a huge gash and had to be escorted out by the stewards. That's not even to mention all the chants about peados coming from a sizable section of our support. Idiots.

Talk about kicking a girl when she's down.

Thought Mount, Bogle and Tomori looked good today. Mount seemed really up for it every time he got the ball and showed some great quality. Really don't think it was as bad as the radio made it sound - I feel like they expect Derby to not give up any chances at all and to create a 100 chances. Mistakes were made and I was rather disappointed by FloJo's performance today as he's usually been solid so far. Wasn't fun watching our strikers get outpaced and outmuscled by that CB either. Don't really have anything to say about Lawrence, there's no point. Oh well, it's a very long season and gotta be positive about the fact that the others dropped points as well so it's not smooth sailing anywhere really. The reaction is important and we need to have a good run again. Onwards and upwards!

Interesting.... wasn’t there and was waiting for someone to comment, as I’ve been thinking all second half, how much did Tom playing change us?

Curious did he slow us down? Did we lose momentum with him there? Others said earlier he had 3 around him. If true where was the space.

Quite l a few comments on team being announced that this was our perfect starting line up, I’m wondering if Tom needs a Bryson for energy around him.

Just asking and wondering if he changed the balance of the team too much? Seemed we had more joy when Marriott was on running behind.

Lot of questions as I wasn’t there but did Tom change us too much?

Just one of those games you get in the Championship.

Oh well... On to the next one.

That’s just the thing....it shouldn’t be, we should be above this....there isn’t one player you would have from Rotherham even close to the derby third team but somehow they were a lot better than us.

Too many times already were we “take the defeat and move on to the next game”

face facts....we have had the easiest possible start to a season we could have possibly wanted...apart from Leeds we ha e played no one....we have played the bottom 3 teams already, a poor Hull team and a bang average Millwall and Rotherham....we should be clear at the top of the table..

Yep, I said a while back that I hope he scores 8-10 goals by January and we sell him for good money as we would be better off ultimately

For a big money signing he wasn’t really any better than Weimann or Russell last season. He hasn’t improved this season so far either. He’s not exactly a young lad.
