Regional journalists will be expected to generate increases of up to 70pc in online page views on their stories by the end of 2022 under new targets being set by their publisher.

    https://www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2022/news/publisher-launches-new-minimum-page-view-targets-for-reporters/

This is from Reach PLC who own regional websites including Derbyshire Live.

    Brace yourself.

They might have more luck if their website wasn't a complete mess of endless adverts and annoying pop ups. And I generally avoid sites that have click bait headlines like "You won't believe what Wayne Rooney had to say about one of his players", or "Rooney makes shock announcement - the football world is left stunned!". Any more of that rubbish is likely to drive clicks away, not increase them.

This video addresses the tactics and aims of the Russian military action in Ukraine.

i agree with most of what Alex puts out here, except i think most of the western Ukraine area will get split between Hungary, Romania and Poland, that is to say if the whole situation doesn't blow up in all our faces before that can happen.

The alarm bells started ringing when he referred to the Russians as 'liberating' Syria from 'jihadists'. When he moved on to the 'denazification' of Ukraine his viewpoint became even more obvious.

Not knowing who he was I checked out his previous YouTube videos, and it's the usual mish-mash of pro-Trump, pro-Putin, anti-EU, anti-liberal talking points. If you want a real laugh check out his video from the 6th December where he rubbishes the idea of a Russian military build up and a possible invasion of Ukraine.

(Also, the first advert that popped up on his YouTube channel was Nigel Farage trying to sell me stuff)

  3. What enfuriates me about the statement is the EFL putting the onus entirely on Derby to react to Middlesbrough and Wycombe's claims. At no point is there any effort to make the other two clubs actually prove the claims are valid; that apparently is just taken at face value and accepted.

At least the EFL have at last dropped any pretence of being neutral, if any proof was still needed

Since I posted this yesterday they've opened it up to comments. Bit of a mixed bag, but there's one whining Leeds fan (natch), and some ignoramus still banging on about the stadium valuation!

Someone on Boro forum saying it’s all down to Derby hi-jacking their bid for Waghorn.

But if you were Waggy and you had to choose between playing for Lampard or Pulis surely there is no contest.

Even if we 'hijacked' their bid, it's still up to the player where he goes. If he preferred Deby to Boro is Gibson going to sue Waghorn as well?!

Besides, when we entered the bidding Gibson could always have bid more to get his man. He obviously didn't want to pay as much as Derby did. His choice. No point still whining about it now and trying to liquidate Derby years later; all involved have moved on (owner, manager and player)

If nothing else, more people are finally starting to wake up to the EFL's behaviour in the last few years. A regulator can't come quick enough; let's hope that there's a hard rain coming their way

This is brilliant. A top football writer taking apart Middlesbrough and Wycombe's ludicrous claims brick by brick, and holding the EFL in utter contempt.
