This buying a striker lark seems more of a carry on.

After losing their top striker from last season and being linked to every striker going, signing none, Derby have turned to 40 yr old Norfolk N'Good. He has a crack goal scoring record of 5 goals in 50 games in last years Djibouti 4th division for Handoga Meteorites.
After a summer of chasing we've landed our top guy said Paul Warne You read in the media that were after all manner of players but the truth is, we may be interested in 20%. Norfolk was one we've been really keen on and it has nothing to do with the transfer window closing tomorrow. We believe we've got the goals and ability to hit the ground running with our other target Conor who we got in the door yesterday . At 30 he's raw and only getting 6 goals a season but he can really learn of Norfolk. We hope the fans are as excited as we are.
You mock, but by the end of the day B4 will say he also saw this on Twitter, Darren Witcoop will have written some piece about Paul Warne's long term interest in N'Good, and Newtfly will have a thread going in the Transfers section.

Paul Warne is probably a big fan of Marcus Rashford, but Man Utd won't entertain any bids either.

It might also not alter our wage and transfer budget at all - if the owner doesn’t want to fund losses and I suspect he doesn’t.
in the past folk kept saying we can stay with a £13 million loss every year then everything is fine but it’s really a £5 million loss per year if the owner isn’t pumping his own money in and why would we expect the owner to operate the club in a loss making way?
Mel Morris raised everyone’s hopes by funding our losses which ultimately fuelled our nightmares.Mel Morris didn't really fund our losses, he multiplied our losses. He ran the 'business' like a s*** show, and threw cash initially at the disaster he created. When it ran out of control, he ran.

My tickets for Suede at the Brixton Academy have been cancelled as the Met Police and Lambeth Council do their utmost to permanently close this great cultural landmark, the finest music venue in London. For those unfamiliar, a terrible thing happened last December when a huge mob without tickets forced their way into the venue to see Nigerian afrobeats singer Asake, causing a Hillsborough-style crush where some ticketed people in the venue were caught up in the crush and horrifically died. But it doesn't mean the venue itself should be permanently closed, rather that murderous thugs shouldn't be allowed to force their way into the building. Been to far more gigs there than any other venue, including some great life moments.
Did see Interpol there in the past. Have them at Somerset House on Monday, hoping the Sun is shining.
Saw Interpol in Brighton a few weeks back; great evening - played a really good, tight set. Sorry you are missing out on Suede, and other Academy gigs. Hopefully the Council get their s*** together soon.

Maybe there needs to be a poll to put a number on the genuine anti-warners, might help stop these slanderous accusations, sneering insults and constant digs that besmirch the good name of those of us just wanting to have an honest discussion about where we're at!?
Absolutely. I have never felt so besmirched in my life as the last couple of days.

Not twitching as you call it at all …I’m not anti Warne like you we’ll be ok
I guess youre twitching but maybe try moving out of the armchair you’re always in …..might help your circulation take it easy 👍🏻
I'm not anti-Warne, just not pro-Warne.
Paralysis is not an easy condition to live with, but I will make sure my carers keep me on the move.

Not even as a 69th birthday present?
Well I have, just over, 7 years to wait, and you never know. I may not be married by then.

Got a better offer from HS2 I heard.

The more I think about it the more I think Warne will go for Ladapo as one of our strikers
Slightly over the age of what hw wants maybe but definitely a player who could get 15+ goals next season
I’d rather we sign 3-4 players who are going to score than just one
If we signed Ladapo May and two other goal scorers who can get double figures …with Collins I think our whole team would look much better
You want 4 new strikers, plus Collins, to make our team look much better. You must really be twitching at the moment mate. Take it easy.

I thought @Boycie was coming down again to 'sort your electrics'
Is he still alive then. I thought he was either dead or banned on here? Send him my best if you bump into him in Belper Post Office.

According to Companies House, he resigned 15th May 2023. On the same date he resigned from 68 other Companies so something is going off but feels like we're heading into dangerous territory for the forum (I.E. sharing potentially semi-personal data (albeit publicly available)) so I'll leave it there. Suspect it's not DCFC related.
We have something broadly in common. He has resigned from 69 companies (possibly a life times work) and I am resigned to never having a 69 again in my remaining life time.

An observation: on the Official Club Directory that Ian Dickinson is no longer listed under "Board of Directors". Originally there were three names, including Mr. Dickinson, but now it's just the two: David Clowes (Owner) and Richard Tavernor (Secretary).
Perhaps he wasn’t the real deal.

Well last season the restrictions hindered us in the loan market in particular imo, we could only get loans without any fees involved which would really reduce the quality pool of players we could pick from.
Not only must it have affected the quality, it also must have had an impact on choice. We arguably needed a forward, a right winger, a right back and a central defender. We ended up with a midfielder, a goalie and a left wing back.

I suspect both Flint and Bradley are waiting at least till the end of this week to avoid Warne’s lung busting first week back fitness routine. It is no coincidence that Mendez-Laing is playing for Guatemala at the moment. Never interested him before, but when the alternative is coughing his guts up, and blowing out of his arse, whilst running 20 miles a day, I suspect old Nate would have been just as happy to have made his international debut for North Korea.

There’s probably a reason why these players go to burton or orient either they lack ambition or are simply not considered good enough.
Or they might want to get game time and experience, and prove themselves capable in League One competition. Just for the record, you do know little old Burton and Orient are playing in the same league as us this season?

If we wanted David McGoldrick he would have stayed, based on your one-eyed logic then?
Sam Smith is a good shout, albeit I don't know much more about him other than the stats you have offered here
