samtheram83 got a reaction from Patrick Rams in One year on from the Chorley Game...
Not to be the one to defend the EFL on here but would it not be down to the FA that we had to play that game as it’s their competition, not the EFL’s?
I don’t know the situation fully, just guessing.
Anyway, glad some of the lads playing that day are coming through in to the first team!

My cracked mobile screen will serve as a reminder of the game. Took a while to realise I had been stamping on it after the winner went in!

considering he started half way through a season, it would be weird to offer him anything but that.

Fantastic. We’re fighting for this. The EFL will be watching this & I tell you now, you can tell them this, I would love it, love it if we beat them!

Have you actually just compared one of our players to a young Pele? And found him lacking in comparison?

When I was 7 or 8 Derby came to our school, all the players were dotted around the assembly hall, so 1 by 1 I met each player notebook in hand asking each player what there name was, then I scribbled it down in my book, even asking some players how there names was spelt.....I didn't get any autographs just pages of words that looked like they had been written by a sloth

The poster only said if we had a 20 goal a season striker we'd survive - 21 points.
You were wrong. It's OK. There's more than you thought. You don't need to try and change the point that was made.

Well, with newcastle joining the diabolical regeme sportswashing club, this does make me think that we should be perhaps courting bids from the most evil governments the planet has to offer.
"Are you a dictator of an oil rich nation who craves international acceptance? Do you wish to raise your nation's profile through association with sporting greatness? Has the dream of seeing your enemies crushed before you and hearing the lamentation of their women become a little dull compared with the excitment of the English Football League? Why concern yourself with crushing dissodents when you could be concerned with Preston away. If this sounds like an escape from the daily grind of dealing with your barbaric security services, please consider buying Derby County! If you think this is for you, please email derbyinterestedparties@quantuma.com"

samtheram83 reacted to Carl Sagan in Steve Gibson trying to liquidate Derby
Here we are, administrators in, massive points deduction, an estimated £50m or whatever in debt, unable to pay wages. And then we read in the Teesside Gazette that Steve Gibson is suing Derby County. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/middlesbrough-Derby-rooney-mel-morris-21660410
His gripe is that Mel sold the stadium to another of Mel's companies (accepted as OK by the League because not every club owns their stadium and you can't force a club to) and that Derby loaned Matt Clarke when Gibson wanted him to go to Middlesbrough.
Of course claims such as these are manifestly absurd and would normally be laughed out of court. But the problem is it's inconceivable that the Derby Administrators can also afford to pay lawyers to fight the Middlesboro Chairman. Equally, it's inconceivable that Derby could afford any additional fines the courts might impose.
The sole purpose of this can only be to ensure the end of Derby County as a football club. Nothing less. The entire football world including honest Middlesbrough fans should be outraged by this behaviour and condemn it in the strongest possible terms. The club can't afford to fight this, so it's up to us fans to shame Gibson into stopping this despicable course of action.

samtheram83 got a reaction from BrudeRAM in PM me if you genuinely cannot afford to go but want to
I can’t ever make games on Saturdays due to work. I’d be happy to donate a ticket to someone who can.
Get the ground rocking and show support for the club we all love very much!

samtheram83 reacted to Stive Pesley in DCFC 1984-1986
I started going to watch Derby properly in 1984 when we had just been relegated to the old Division 3 (League One in modern parlance)
In the light of current events, I wanted to start a thread to offer some positivity around the very high likelihood of our relegation this season
I'm sure there is a high percentage of posters who weren't even born back then and have no idea what it was like to playing in tier 3, but I'm here to tell you that it was a fantastic experience
Derby fans came together like never before and relished the status of being a big fish in a small pond, the fallen giants - every other team's cup final, the one they wanted to beat
Atmosphere on the Popside was better than ever, away games were brilliant adventures to new places
Players grew in confidence week after week as the team started to coalesce, with the realisation that we had the beating of anyone in the division if we stuck together
Because at the end of the day - it doesn't actually matter what league you are in, you're watching a football game, and in that moment - the passion is just the same
So come on old timers - share your memories of those years 84-86 in Division 3 for the nippers

samtheram83 reacted to RamLad1884 in My admiration for Rooney has shot up
Not sure you could find anyone with the 'skillset' and 'experience' that could potentially face the club.
Worst case scenario we could be facing the highest points deduction the league has ever dished out.

samtheram83 got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Louie Sibley
My friend lives next to his grandad in Burton (I know, friends, grandads, brothers house cleaner etc etc!). From what she says he’s a really nice, polite young lad. Pops round quite frequently for a cuppa with his pops.
This just seems to be him having a bit of harmless fun. Seems to have a better sense of humour than the majority of pouting halfwits on social media. I know and have worked with a few of them!
Im 37 and proud to be finally matching my age to my grumpy disposition, just for reference!
