The story a few days ago was that they wouldn't meet our £3m valuation. Why would they wait until the last day of the window to offer £4m but run out of time? I don't understand it sometimes.

In case anyone is mentally spending that 4m, we'd not have been given it all at once. It'd have been in installments over 3 or 4 seasons. So another 1m today maybe, with an hour to spend it. Not a brilliant deal for us.

Remember when we accepted £4m for Hulse and he turned it down, ended up joining QPR for £750k. 
 

At £4m this would’ve been an awesome deal. Even if we can’t get a replacement in we should do the deal if possible then spend the money in January if necessary. Be lucky to get half that next summer.

We need promotion to stand any chance of him signing a new deal. Same with Bird.

Percy is probably publishing that story for a favour for Derby, as per usual.

A quiet end to what could have been a busy deadline day, Percy reports we have kept hold of Cashin despite a late surge from Brighton and Derby fans rejoice.

It's probably not true. If Brighton are offering 4 million for Cashin I reckon Clowes would be driving him to Brighton himself and JCH would be on the way.

No one offers £4 million when the asking price is 3.

What this means is the 4mil offer that was agreed would be much smaller. Prob much closer to 1.5mill plus lots of add-ons.

If cash goes at the end of his contract then I could well be wrong but aren't we due a potential compensation fee for development? Imagine we could use formal written bids of £4mill from a prem team as a starting point for a compensation amount?

If a tribunal said the fee was £900k then we would rightly point to Brighton bids as his true value.
