I don’t post on OTIB and haven’t for about 10 years, but I just picked a few pages at random to go through and I can’t see anybody pleading for your liquidation. Took 5 minutes. Get them cataracts sorted. I shall certainly shed no tears should Derby County be liquidated, and I just wonder how he (Mel Morris) will feel as the proud owner of an £80 Million () football stadium with no team to play in it. The sooner people realise Morris took advantage of everything and everyone the better. In many respects I want Derby to get liquidated so Morris is shown up for what he is. On the other hand if HMRC in quite a high profile case get zilch, but the entity is wound up or liquidated then that sends out a message to businesses large and small, self-employed whoever that HMRC will get their dues or the individual or entity will suffer the full consequences. No new owner by tonight and Derby will be thrown out of the league and liquidated - got a few likes I can’t see them resolving this. Think they’re gonna be liquidated. 4 likes for that one Little chant for Derby thought it up the other day...it chimes stanza to verse wise. "E-I-E-I-E-I-O Out the Football League you go When you're liquidated This is what we'll sing You were Derby- Derby County Melvyn was your King!" Too soon? I don't actually think it'll happen but if they're still in a financial mess in April when we go there... RoyMac5

SouthDerbysRam
I thought we needed 2 runners adding to the team this off-season, players that run the hard, difficult yards, either at wing back or in midfield. If we lose Knight, we'll need 3 of that sort of player. IMO Knight is the only player in the team currently that can do that, which highlights how difficult it is to find that kind of player. I can understand folks saying that he needs to add more goals and assists to his game. I'm not sure this season is the best argument for that. How can you add goals and assists when, from memory, He started the season at fullback because we didn't have any. The other midfield options didn't really have the skillset to play fullback either, Knight was the only one that did. Then got injured for a bit When he came back, we were unbeaten for several games with McGoldrick as the number 10 - can you really change the team in that scenario? When he did play number 10 towards the end of the season, the teams flaws elsewhere in the side got exposed and we were leaking goals. We need the money and wouldn't begrudge selling him because of that, he should be looking to further his career. But I completely disagree with posts that suggest he's easily replaceable or not good enough. Gee SCREAMER !!
Eranio, Powell and Carsley. I'd take that midfield. Nearly 1400 games and just 92 goals. Trick is to get some pace up front and a quality link up behind them and get a goal scoring set piece specialist. Ours has left unfortunately. Without Knight our midfield will resemble a slug desperately searching for a place to hide from the sun.

Anag Ram
I think we are waiting for transfers out to determine our budget for players in. Pointless waiting for free transfers when we could be looking at quality at £200,000 plus. That’s maybe why there’s been no action so far.

We’d be mad not to be looking at some of the free agents available, whether we generate some funds through sales or not. There are some good players who would improve what we have and add depth to our squad without the need for a fee, what sense would there be in ignoring those? Leigh Curtis and Dominic Dietrich have both said this week that several deals are being worked on, there’s been no announcements so far, that’s not the same as “no action”, the club will definitely be working on signing players Edited June 15, 2023 by Caerphilly Ram Blondest Goat
Carl Sagan
It will be disappointing for Derby County but especially for Jason Knight if he ends up going to Bristol City. But I'd suggest he'd have no one but himself to blame. Jason had the opportunity to set League One alight and largely failed to do so. He was best at right back, but frequently disappeared in midfield. Maybe right back was his position all along? I felt if he and Max Bird and Conor Hourihane played anything like as well as it was claimed and many of us thought they could, then we would boss the midfield in this division. It didn't happen. Perhaps it would have been different had Rosenior then Warne given Sibley a decent run in his best position in midfield, as it would have made it easier for all those others to look better with an additional runner, goal threat and ball winner alongside them, but that never happened. But I do feel what could have been Jason Knight's proper breakthrough season ended up as pretty much a damp squib. Had he excelled a Premier League move would have still been on the cards. As it is, I think we're looking at the Championship. Is Bristol City the best he can do? Blondest Goat
Not sure why everyone thinks Bristol is a bad move. They are a solid championship side with decent support who with good management and transfer business could mount a promotion push and with bad management and transfers may get caught up in a relegation battle. If he kicks on Knight might end up at a higher level but for now I'd say the it was about right and certainly nothing to be sneered at. i-Ram, Ram-Alf, Caerphilly Ram and 1 other 3

Ambitious
Bristol is a great city and City are the dominant side there - they have decent potential. I can see why Knight would be open to a move there. They have a relatively low turnover for a championship side (£16.5m) whereas ours all ranged roughly £30m in our most recent published accounts - there’s a good chance our revenue in league one is higher than there’s in the championship- obviously they’re doing ok with player sales to inflate that budget and their chairman is happy to plug the big losses every year. Derby have a lot of work to do before they get up to Bristol City again, as we know our current owner can’t afford to take the losses of the Bristol owner can so financially at best for us, it’s a level playing field. Knight probably gets a contract he wants with us IF we get promoted, but Bristol can give it him now. In terms of wage bills, ours sat below £8m last season and Bristol City’s was £26m - down from £30m the year before. A little over three times what we’re paying out at the moment. If you’re a player and an agent then you take that into consideration. Yes, now the restrictions are lifted and following promotion, the landscape will be very different - I do struggle to see us spending anywhere near £30m on wages under this ownership model though. A takeover or outside investment would need to happen for that. David Graham Brown, jono and Anag Ram

He's an international player for the Republic of Ireland, He's an energetic player for DCFC who are a League1 club not by being in the worst 3 clubs in the Championship but by EFL rules. Depending on likeness and loyalty Knight is seen as an energetic player who gets up and down the pitch scores the odd goal but his work ethic is very good, Others will tell you he's not all that, My opinion is...he has potential and spending another year in League1 could and only could jeopardise his International future...see Bielik, His agent will have sat him down just like his Irish manager did and tell him he's better than League1. Bristol City appear to be making good signings for a crack at the top 6, The Championship last season was pretty ordinary, This is not a slight on Coventry or Sunderland or even Millwall 😁who threw away a great lead against an ordinary Blackburn rovers what was 3-0?. I understand you're comment on "Bristol City as not being much of a step up" Roberts is taking the chance on that step up, And I agree that this is about where his true reflection is, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton are also Championship teams but I don't see them queueing up for him, So yes Rammy03 you're right it's his level...imo Rammy03 and jono 1

It matters to fans and the club because, if there was a Premier League tussle for who Jason might play for next, we'd be getting way more money. A sale to a middling Championship team is a bit meh in terms of the finances. It helps, but an extra several million would have helped a lot more.
