nottingram
Cashin CB Roberts (hopefully) LCB Bird DM Sibley CM Hourihane CM Didzy CF Mendez-Laing sometimes playing up top, sometimes RWB, Barkhuizen the same but will go if there’s a taker. Specialist wing backs, a better penalty box striker than Collins and a CB the priority to recruit. Sibley playing CM more hope than expectation
RoyMac5
Play the system that suits the best players in the squad - that would be a bloody miracle for Warne! Edited May 7, 2023 by RoyMac5 rammieib, kevinhectoring and Jayram 1

Chopper
I can see Mendez-Laing going, perhaps for a nominal fee too. At L1 level can be considered top end for any team that plays with wingers or maybe 3 up top. That wont be us. Perhaps Barkhuizen too. For the same reasons. I can see us losing 1-2 of Bird, Knight, Cashin, Sibley. The fee will annoy us, and serve as a reminder of the situation we find ourselves in. Maybe Warne would prefer to keep Bird and Cashin if it was 2 of the 4 to stay, they probably fit his system better. In this league, square pegs, square holes please, we dont have the luxury of "11 good players now let's make them play together." Now we are L1 Didzy has to be a priority, to stay. Collins may get more game time as our No. 9 with 2 up front Incomings I'm ready for the first few moves to be centre halves, perhaps 4 or 5, it may the end of Curtis' road and a sad day if so. Chester? I dont know. If it's a back 3 then we will have Cashin, Rooney and maybe if we include Fozzy on the books, so we need to fill first team slots as CB and have cover, I cant tell if we have any U23 to act as 5th/6th choice CB, but I suspect not (thanks Mel). So staying and in plans for the first 11 I think: Wildsmith Cashin Rooney Smith Bird Hourihane Didzy Collins Needing 2 wing backs and a CB for the first 11. This team isnt particular exciting though...
inter politics
I think we all know we're definitely getting a 6'4 centre half and a bone crunching midfielder! jimtastic56 and SKRam 1

No, it's chance for him to change the squad to fit what he wants now. The players aren't good enough, he has a chance to get rid of those that don't fit and build something that will suit his style. RCB CB LCB DCM RWB CM CM LWB CF CF Who out of this this years outfield squad do you see being first choice next season and in which position? First off I think we will have a much bigger squad next season and expect a lot more rotation! RCB CB Cashin DCM RWB Bird Hourihane Roberts Sibley CF Players to stay and rotate: Forsyth, Davies, Collins, McGoldrick, Barkhuizen, NML, Smith, Rooney Expect Knight and Chester to go. So we’d need a new back up GK, 2 cbs, a RWB, two midfielders and a goal scorer? 7 players min but I think possibly 9 ? *Should probably say, I’m going on Davies staying on Warne’s reaction post match and Curtis recently saying he thinks he’s got another season in him. McGoldrick might be a bit harsh to put on a rotate but I’ve tried to go on age as much as anything else. NML I think has proved he will not produce over a full season and maybe we need to have a bit more in/out. Edited May 7, 2023 by TuffLuff
Jourdan
Wildsmith will be first choice goalkeeper and deservedly so. Time will tell on everything else. Who wants to stay? We don’t know. Who does Warne want to keep and see as part of his plans? We as yet don’t know. I think the first thing I would be looking to do is tie down Forsyth and McGoldrick for another year. Both of them are absolutely top professionals and will be mainstays in the team if they decide to stay. IlsonDerby
343 like we’ve ended the season with, surely we don’t need a DM in league 1? I understand him using one with unfancied Rotherham in the championship. For this formation to work we need 5 first team CBs, 2 out and out WBs with ‘secondary’ options who can do a job there in case of injury. 4 first team CMs. 4 first team (non central) attackers and 2 first team CFs. Trying to use what we have already even if not perfect I’d see a squad of: GK: Wildsmith, New, young lad from 21s RWB: new specialist, Smith/Rooney if needed LWB: Roberts, new CB: Cash, Foz, new, new, Rooney CM: Hourihane, Bird, New, Smith, Thompson Attackers: NML, Sibley, new, new Forwards: McG, Collins, new (big fella?) 9 signings for us to replace the loans, 8 if you include Barkhuizen within the attackers but I think he’ll agree to move on. I’m assuming based on his exit from the pitch yesterday that Knight is gone and if Warne managed to talk Bielek into giving us a year after his less than impressive season with Brum and his rubbish World Cup then we’d be a class player better off. Kernow
Apologies for the fairly soft naughty words in the photo but I saw this on Twitter and thought it’s a fairly accurate assessment. I think Bird/Hourihane could fill the position listed at number 4 but other than that you can see just how much we need to recruit if we are going to play Warne’s system well. We need to find round pegs for the round holes and also add the depth needed for a full season. This summer is going to have to be very, very busy.
