The view from their lot, including occasional comments that the game might not go ahead due to a frozen pitch: https://www.onevalefan.co.uk/forum/topic/56580-match-thread-port-vale-v-derby-county/#comments

When you're on a roll you don't feel tired, so our players will want to play. What does this mean for Cashin and Sibley? I love how Warne plays his cards close to his chest with injuries and won't volunteer the information and give the opposition an advantage.

It's the last game before West Ham and, as well as keeping the winning run going, the players will want to stake their claim for a cup tie against a Premier League club. We've done the easy part of this weekend and won at home, but as the Port Vale thread points out, they've won more away games than we have. Being away draw specialists when you're hoping to chase down the leaders isn't good enough. We need to win (yet) again and get to 50 points and put more pressure on the three above.

My take is we won't risk Cashin or Sibley, we'll keep McGoldrick in, and so will be unchanged:

Wildsmith

Smith     Davies     Forsyth     Roberts

Bird     Hourihane

Mendez-Laing     Knight     Barhuizen

McGoldrick

Subs: Loach Rooney Stearman Thompson Dobbin Springett Collins

Warne basically said Sibley and Cashin won’t be risked and if mendiz Lang has had stitches in his foot due to all that bleeding on Saturday then Dobbin will start - I expect collins to start

                      Wildsmith

smith.   Davies.    Forsyth.   Roberts

                  Bird.     Hourihane
  Dobbin.          Knight.        Barkhauzen
                        Collins

will they have a nearly frozen pitch - probably

frozen pitch tomorrow?

@SparkleI passed a couple of gritters tonight on the A38 around Derby and there was talk on radio Derby of the temperature going down tonight to -4, so who knows? Then again the local weather forecasters are saying we'll be in double figures later this week.

Impressed by the way Warne handles injuries. This is a long season and if we lose a couple of key players through long term injury, we are a different team. The signs are that Warne is cautious - he rests the aged, and he doesn’t hurriedly bring players back from injury. Having said that, Curtis’ body will be reeling in shock from Saturday’s onslaught so if Cashin is not back with avengeance perhaps Rooney might feature.

Exactly how I think we will line up, I feel like Warne prefers Collins in away games where its going to be more of a battle & McG at home when we can create more space for him

We’ve played a lot better with mcgoldrick as the 9 than Collins, would start mcgoldrick every game as the striker if he can.

much rather play Collins in the cup, league must be priority.
