we would have been back in admin within 6 months if ck money cleared.

how can a club in our financial position afford somebody like hourihane, it would be no different to signing Bradley Johnson a couple of seasons ago

it it’s true Rooney walked because of that then goodnriddance

I’ve always been a huge fan of Hourihane, since his Barnsley days. However, he looked massively off it last season at Sheff Utd and lost his place in the team by the end of the season. He played just 11 minutes between the playoff games.

Not sure this would’ve been the smartest move, especially as the wages would be significant for a League One side.

Where have you read that was a reason for Rooney leaving?

What a difficult job The management have got attracting players. Who’s going to want to play alongside a group of kids. The first signing needs to be a statement to attract others.

I don’t think it will be that difficult.

Train at some of the best facilities in English football, easily the best in league one.

Play in front of 20k fans at home at one of the best stadiums in the league.

Play with young players from one of the best academy’s in the country.

I’d say even in our current state we’re pretty attractive.

What is the latest on the Hourihane rumour?

Would be a fine addition but I can’t believe Championship teams aren’t interested

Nixon put in his story that Barkhuizen and Hourihane are expected to sign. Barkhuizen was announced between him writing the story and publishing the story. If he does have his leak within Derby, once again, then I would say there is a very good chance he is going to be a Derby player.

Would be a massive signing. Probably too good for League 1 and also a set piece specialist. Could be the difference between promotion and a mid table finish.

Hourihane would be a major signing in our position. I work with a Forest fan and even he said that Hourihane is way too good for League 1.

Fingers crossed that this happens but even if not it looks like we will be competitive next season if the first few signings are anything to go by.

We should be OK, just as long as we stock up on Werther's Originals and install a few beds in the changing room. The rate we're going the lads won't need a half time team talk they'll need an afternoon nap!
