Breaching financial regulations according to Percys article. What they are exactly nobody knows, but you would think they relate to the accounts and/or the P&S cycles considering the Accounts deadline this week

Alleged breach it said in the tweet/article. Just likes they alleged we valued the stadium wrongly ?

And football in England was indeed called "soccer" originally but that is not the name that was officially adopted and agreed upon as the canon name for the game and the vagaries of a random printer's mis-spelling a hundred years ago not more dictates the name of a club for perpetuity than I don't know if your teacher wrote Philip rather than Phillip on your school report. But by all means sit in the corner of the pub chuntering in to your beer that "it is Notts - I read it once so there".... while the rest of the world just smiles in your direction, sighs and carries on with things that aren't utterly trivial.

I had come to offer some discussion, insight and exchange about the actual game

I read it as 9 points being the EFLs opening stance. DCFC obviously starting with "we've done nothing wrong"

So at a guess we'll end up between 3-6 deduction with more suspended.

Presumably also we are going to flat out refuse any kind of further EFL say in our business dealings. Costs have been cut is subsequent years so it's not really like resolving a current overspend.

It stinks but as I’ve said elsewhere I can understand the reasoning especially if a take over is near

Anybody else had the thought cross their mind that Derby have released info to Percy to manage expectations?

Knowing we’re going to cop for a three point deduction, we use an unofficial comms route to indicate a 9pt penalty is on the table. Then bingo, a big reveal and the three point deduction doesn’t look so bad.

Expect a “brilliant rearguard action by Mel” narrative, so he saves face.

And expect a further six points suspended so the EFL save face too.

I for one wouldn’t like it but can see the reasoning

I maybe wrong but I think we could appeal against the punishment the EFL give us but not the verdict.

It makes sense to agree the punishment as it brings the issue to a close for both parties and removes the need for further appeals

If Percy is right it looks like we really breached the FFP in a number of seasons ???

    9 points ????

The punishment for the EFL case was £100K. This is different it’s the restated accounts

Hi Rams fans - undercover red here and as the name says I do come in peace, never quite got my head round the bad feeling between our two sides, anyway - to your point we have not been called Notts for over 100 years - the World Famous City Ground is indeed in the county and we moved there in 1898 but of course it was not always so. Forest originally played Shinty until 1865 when a meeting was called and we decided to switch to football and so formed the NFFC which makes us the world's oldest professional football club (since County's relegation to the national league) - the team played at various places with the city but in the most basic sense the club represented the City while Notts County represented the County - pretty simple really. We hate it for the same reason you'd hate being called Derby City or Derby Town, its not your name. It is weird that while we play at a stadium outside the City while Notts County's ground Meadow Lane in inside the city limits.

As for the game I can confirm that many of us think you have a good chance to get your first win since 2017 because for all his faults Rooney's apparently managed to at least create a fighting spirit and siege mentality which is working for you while we don't seem to know what we're doing apart from making a team that is less than the sum of its parts.

Take a look at fixture lists and league tables going back years. Always says Notts Forest. Will post a few up for you ?

As Boro actively and directly took part in the disciplinary process, they should really play no part in the decision, and Derby should be making this point.

As Stephen Pearce did when he was involved. Stepped aside

Years ago on the popside we sang " by the light of the silvery moon " and "home on the range" for no particular reason, but they both sounded good with a few thousand blasting it out.

Yes " By the light of the silvery moon " was our song and sung on the popside in the 70's . Not sure when it fell out of favour/

Can also remember when the Heanor lads used to chant "Heanor , Heanor " and the popside would respond "Sharples , Sharples " ( You would have to have watched 70's Coronation St to get that ?).

Still don't understand why they get so snippy about being called notts.

They're in the borough of Rushcliffe not the city of nottingham and everyone calls notingham notts for short anyway, but it seems to really wind them up?!

Perhaps the mods should let @Red_Dawn and @eezzeetiger onto the thread to explain? Their previous owner said they were house trained and only very rarely ? on the rug these days.

They have been called Notts for over 100 years. Only recent comers get shirty over it

In all fairness reading that however confusing it is it actually sounds to me like the accounts haven’t been filed

Or they were filed already and additional info or clarification has been added

Strange if so. Named club captain in July and was the 2nd highest rated player in the league last season... phenomenal for a player who didn't score a single goal.

Wrexham also signed another up and coming Carlisle player this season which upset their fans plus splashed out big cash for Paul Mullin who scored 30 plus goals for Cambridge Utd in the football league. CG probably sold the fantasy of Wrexham’s Hollywood owners.

Sadly, my predictions years ago, have proven to be true. Hughes simply just doesn’t do anything. He looks neat and tidy, but in this stats based industry, he contributes nothing. He’s made no headlines for goals, assists, protecting his defenders, covering ground, shots, pass accuracy or completion etc etc etc… what does he actually contribute?

Saw some stats that last season with Will playing Watford had a 71% win percentage and  49% when he wasn’t
