I’ve seen some people saying Cook and that other guy who joined according to Nixon might be the front faces for Frank McCourt, probably people just seeing those have worked together and thought they might again

Frank McCourt has a pretty chequered past in Yankee sports if I recall correctly. Currently owns Marseille so that might be an issue ( although duel ownership doesn’t bother Forests owner )

4/October 1969 Derby v Man U We won 2-0 Programme 1 shilling (5p, kiddies). In a packed popside (think it was called that then) a young girl near me felt faint so I helped her out to the back of the stand.

Beginning of the end--we've been married 45 years now.

That was my first ever Rams 1st team game sat in the Ley Stand with my Dad who got tickets from his mate who couldn’t make it. Goals from King Kev and John Fitzpatrick OG.

Google reckons about 450 million USDollars, so around £333 million = one third of a billion GBP.

Victoria is reputedly worth a similar amount in her own right, so maybe between them, and a few neighbours, they could maybe just about cobble 1 billion pounds together?    ?‍♂️

I'd imagine Victoria would prefer to buy out Peterborough Utd rather than us, though!  ?

As long as she promises not to “sing” or whatever the  unintelligible whining that came from her mouth was called.

Very impressed with the point today, after the first 15/20 minutes, I thought a draw was impossible

but, its going to take either a very lucky shot, or a worldy for someone to score against us.

I can still remember the game against Boro a few seasons back,  where they got 2 goals from ricochets,

and Martin was shown a red card for simulation, after the ball was in their goal.

I've not seen anything like that since, thank god...

If we had Mitrovitch we'd probably be in the top 6 now?

Think that was Burnley away not Boro

I think you're referring to the 2-2 home draw against Southampton a couple of weeks earlier..youtube footage on previous page. Todd did indeed deliberately handle the ball (cracking save to be fair) but back in those days, it wasn't a sending off offence.

Think one Jimmy Hill campaigned for deliberate hand ball and “professional fouls” that stopped goal scoring opportunities to be red cards around this time

“They spoke on the phone every day for about four months. Ms Henry says she could hear sounds in the background consistent with a military operation.”

What's the betting he just put Call of Duty on in the background and that was enough to fool her?

Probably had “Band of brothers “ dvd on loop.

Amazing! I hope they make a Catch Me If You Can sequel about him.

There's some pretty big whoppers even in this article exposing him.

"Mark McDonald, defending, said Abalimba had become accustomed to a certain lifestyle while being a professional footballer." Ah yes, it must be difficult to return to a normal mundane existence after experiencing the extravagance of Roots Hall.

"A court heard that the ex-midfielder, whose playing career was blighted by injury" The court heard a load of baalocks. His playing career was mostly blighted by him not being very good at football.

Wonder what sort of lifestyle he was accustomed to on Derby’s Academy and Southend Utd wages ?

While things remain positive on the pitch, for me, the worry of liquidation is still very real and much higher than the 5% that the Administrators put it at.

In a recent and credible report I've read, it puts an estimate for the funds needed to re-stabalise the club in the region of £70m-80m. A bit more detail on the liabilities:

    1. around £27m to HMRC - will have to be paid in full and currently getting charged interest on

    2. Circa £8m to "other" creditors (including Cocu) - would need to be paid 25p in the pound

    3. the £100m in 'soft' loans to Morris associated with Pride Park. He's indicated he would be prepared to write these off, but it would still leave a £21m charge on PP to MSD Finance. Hence new owners will either have to pay rent for the ground or pay off the debt. Hence MSD are also in the equation if a successful purchase is to be achieved.

This puts the club's liabilities at around £50m. On top of that, new owners will need to inject money as "working capital" to keep the club running (hard to estimate but could be anywhere between £5m-£15m) and provide 2-years proof of funds to the EFL (circa £15m). Hence it is easy to see how this estimate of £60-80m has been arrived at.

A source in the article also suggests potential investors may wait until May next year once demotion has (most-likely) been confirmed but a deal really needs to be done sooner rather than later. They also think that at the EFL there is likely to be a real "concern" that the club could slip into liquidation.

Another source puts the "bare minimum" of buying the club out of administration to be £38m (excluding working capital and the ELF proof of funds requirement).

    Sobering stuff.

Administrators indicated that the HMRC debt is negotiable as they would prefer something rather than nothing if the club goes bump , I presume that’s a fact ?

Neither Clough nor Burley had the resource, Clement wasn't given the time. If you're arguing to show your knowledge then yes - Clough was here for more games, point noted. But nobody since Jim Smith had the opportunity (unless you find some website that calculates the weighted opportunity algorithm for every manager since Jimmy Methven) that Mac had and he didn't manage to get the club over the line. With all he had he should have got us promoted. If you disagree, fair enough.

2015 we were decimated by injuries to Martin , Thorne , Eustace and virtually the whole midfield at the crunch end of the season. If they had stayed fit in my opinion we would have gone up.

Yes and as a very successful businessman, he would have passed with flying colours. Unfortunately that is no guarantee of future good business acumen as we have found out. I think apart from previous convictions for fraudulent or nefarious business practices, pretty much anyone can pass. They need a complete rethink of the rules with perhaps a fully audited and submitted  set of accounts filed every couple of years a bare minimum. Being able to go closer to 4 years in our case obviously helps hide problems until it’s too late

Forests owner passed so probably Ron and Reggie Kray would have been ok as well

Would that be the same George Thorne who played in 8 years 57 games for the Rams and scored 2 goals after signing for £3 million so taking into account his wages of £10 million in that period so we paid him £2,500 for every minute he played for the Rams, and £6.5 million for every goal, he was pants as his entire career shows 129 games in 10 years and only 6 goals. Whats more Morris cannot be blamed for his signing.

8 years for DCFC ? Don’t think so
