I remember when Phil Gee and Trevor Christie scored against Rotherham. My celebrations were tempered by the sampling variability of that season up to that point so it took the edge off somewhat. Same after Robbie Van Der Laan scored against Palace; it really ruined all the beers afterwards. 

Maybe, and this is just me, you need to lighten up and enjoy the ride of a promotion race otherwise perhaps football is not for you.

To be fair they are living the dream, spending 250 million with an annual wage bill of 148 million and they held the giants of football Crystal Palace to a draw. They must be ecstatic. 

Anything can happen. Lose at Portsmouth and Bolton win their next two and we won’t be quite as confident or comfortable! You just want Matchdays to keep coming round! 

We won the game .Woke up happy then back to looking over fixtures and the table. This is what it is all about.

Yesterday was probably a dreadful game of football but it didn’t matter; the result was everything and it was a great result made better by other bizarre results elsewhere.

I thought Nelson was magnificent at the back. Wilson was excellent too. Cashin, Smith, Thompson and Eboooooooo also good. We rode our luck though but it doesn’t matter. I thought Collins made a big difference when he came on, holding the ball up and winning free kicks.Washington was ineffective. I don’t particularly rate him when he’s fit, let alone recovering from injury. I also prefer NML out wide.

On to the next one. Still plenty of nervous times ahead I think. Wouldn’t it be nice though.

I know we are all feeling down but let’s wait to find out what our expected goals were before we all start panicking. 

Take a moment to compare Bradley and Forsyth. Football ability. Temperament. Professionalism. Chalk and cheese. 

Hopefully that’s the last time I ever have to watch him. What an absolute bell end.

You know when we are one up with five minutes to go and it looks like we are going to concede every time the opposition gets the ball…yeah

My overriding memory of the day is leaving the ground disappointed at our expected goals (xg) level because as we all know, that’s what really matters.

This is simply not true, he was nowhere near it.

Call me old fashioned but the actual result of a football match seems quite significant to me, especially when it comes to points and league tables and the like.

No. Complete lack of middle eights as well. 

It’s all very well having a sell out but I couldn’t get in my usual car park or get a seat in the pub. Mid-table obscurity has its benefits after all.
