I believe it was a case of giving him a 6 month / 1 year deal at the start of 20/21 as he picked up an injury during lockdown/summer which kept him out until early 2021.
We were also close to letting Festy leave last summer.
Wow!

Crazy to think that had the club not been in a total shambles he was probably going to be released.
Is that right? I agree, crazy if so

Nothing against him at all but there was an element of disappointment when I read that Rosenior’s “exciting potential signing” could be Waghorn.

Went to the game last night and thought it was very entertaining. Sibley and Cashin looked like they could play at a much higher level. However as for Collins , I don’t think he will get more than 10 goals this season unfortunately. It takes him far too long to line the ball up to shoot.
Time will tell….. just my opinion from what I’ve seen. He maybe “taking more time” because he’s still searching for his first goal for the club…… once that monkey is off his back he maybe more instinctive

I’ve seen a negative few comments on here but in my opinion, James Collins will score 20+ goals this season.

Shrewsbury and Lincoln the only midweek games we have before Christmas. Both will sell out.
Ipswich (Saturday 22nd October) may be a bit slower to sell out due to how crap it is to get to. Depends how well we're doing I suppose.
Bolton (Boxing Day), Forest Green (Good Friday) and Exeter 18th April the only other non-Saturday games we currnetly have.
Ipswich now much easier to get to with the A12 / A14. My lad has started a job there so was down at the weekend, albeit travelling from Doncaster. 2 hours 50 mins…… suspect similar from Derby

I suspect that the next pay packet will be the turning point. If we pay him and he takes the money I suspect he is classed as being under contract. If we don’t he’s a free agent.
Pay him & then dock him the maximum number of weeks wages for going AWOL

Talking to a golfing friend yesterday, Barnsley season ticket holder………. “I see Derby are trying to buy the League again”…… oh boy, here we go again!!
I did of course explain the free transfers, not a penny spent on fees, EFL approval within business plan, salary cap, season ticket sales, 22,000 plus gates, premier league facilities attracting top players out of contract….… etc. etc. but nope, didn’t believe it, “Hourihane is a premier league player and wouldn’t take such a pittance, we should get FFP penalties…….” ?

Very diplomatic
... but we know which way your vote is really going! ?
I was non commital as genuinely torn ?. Born & bred Derby lad and start of a great career versus Doncaster that has given me the bulk of my career and home for 31 years.
I might have two votes ?

I had 37 years in the rail industry starting at Derby Loco works before moving on to York & then Doncaster where I have now lived for 31 years with my wife who I met when working at York and two sons, born in Doncaster but raised as Rams fans.
Great Industry now serving me well in retirement! Both Derby and Doncaster would be worthy winners in my view with both having great railway heritage

It’s a gamble for us.
Bird and Knight probably can’t sign contract extensions due to wage restrictions and budget cap. Should we get promoted, I’d see no reason why they wouldn’t extend next summer.
But on the flip side, if we don’t get promoted, we will almost certainly lose them for nothing next summer.
So do we cash in on them now? We could get promoted without them. But having them in the squad gives us a better chance of promotion as both players are clearly solid Championship standard.
I know it wouldn’t be huge money but I assume we’d get “compensation” if they left when their contracts were up next year. Unless we are made an offer we can’t refuse and they are still motivated to play for the club then I’d keep them in a big push for promotion.

To break the 6000 barrier on the first day with no direct debit option is phenomenal support. If they can get the direct debit option in I would imagine we could manage to hit close to 20,000 by the start of the campaign.
If this is a spot the difference competition I give in, totally stumped ?

I sign business deals with multiple stakeholders regularly, it's basically my job. Maybe not as complex as this but that's irrelevant
Even on a smaller scale it almost always takes longer than you think so giving out optimistic timelines is an absolutely ridiculous thing to do and just makes you look an idiot. Q have done that on multiple occasions during this process.
How have these fellas reached a level of tenure and seniority in their profession without figuring this out? Absolute clown show of a firm.
Couldn’t agree more…. under promise & over deliver not the other way around!!!!
