What a cracking balanced article...... I'll use this when debating our situation with friends in Yorkshire who only get the unbalanced version ?

Interesting that Kirchner was sat in Rooney's seats tonight, rather than a directors box. Funny that he was also with Stretford and Cook again.
It's blaringly obvious that these are Rooney's men, it's not even like they're trying to hide it anymore, with Rooney keep mentioning Kirchner. It's clear as well that the S*n are doing PR for Kirchner, as Nixon also happens to be buddies with Stretford (Nixon left The Guardian in 2004 because of his links with Stretford).
Is that something we want? Our owner being connected heavily to ownership? What about if Rooney isn't up for the job, do they sack him?
I just want a club to support that is well run - beyond that I’m not fussed
-
We should consider it a charge for promotion seeing as most think we're down already…….. a more positive spin on the challenge ahead ?
-
The business plan restrictions are simply to ensure we have zero chance of getting out of relegation, which is pretty much certain anyway….. complete belt and braces approach by the EFL!!!

Don't understand why we appealed anyway...?
We broke the rules and knew the consequences. Take the punishment
More likely leverage in negotiation against further punishment…….

There lays the problem Jim.
You are a voice for your members, I have never seen an open Membership for the RAMS trust it seems a very closed door. A MOD from here can control the unruly members and sift the rubbish questions. I think through the media in that situation the RAMS trust voice seemed very distant from us the Fans and felt kind of alienating. I don't know the answer to that but I think most Fans felt we didn't know how bad things were with the club or even that we had a voice or a bunch of yes men...
I'm sure it must be hard to be able to reach everyone but maybe a live stream from the meetings or at least knowing who we can ask when something like the NDA's happen again.
I hope that nothing like this happens again but even for the purpose of the forum maybe to point us in the right direction to be able to read the notes or see the fielded questions and answers to the RAMS trust questions may help in future. I understand you was under NDA last meeting but previous and the next meetings being posted by RAMS trust to keep us informed?
Kind regards
I have never seen an open Membership for the RAMS trust it seems a very closed door.
I’ve never considered joining RamsTrust but in light of this thread I have tried to find details online……. Must be honest it took me 5 seconds to find the website and then another 5 seconds to find membership details so to call it a closed door is very harsh.

Did anyone on here attend this? What did you think of the actual training session? Did they do much?
I didn’t but some of my family did……. they were hugely impressed by the level of intensity that was maintained for the full session….. clearly why we’ve looked so much fitter this season

I think they were going to choose a preferred bidder by then. Sounds like Kirchner is moving quicker than anyone else atm. Or at least making more noise.
Yes, that’s how I understood it - a preferred bidder being an element of a firmed up exit plan

You've got to laugh at Simon Jordan and some of the numbers he was quoting
Apparently our crowds are 27,000 every game, Rolls-Royce laid off 7,500 in Derby (no they didn't) & 2,500 of them were season ticket holders ??? & a £70m investment in Chris Kircheners firm means it's worth £7 billion
Fortunately, what Simon Jordan says is irrelevant and what our administrator had to say sounded very credible and level headed
& a £70m investment in Chris Kircheners firm means it's worth £7 billion
Depends if £70m bought a 1% stake in the business

Interesting that they think we could exit admin in 3 weeks, would be amazing if it could be done then as you would think everything will be resolved with regards to ongoing cases with the EFL, Boro & Wycombe, plus sorting the debts our with HMRC (discussions next week with them) etc as well as the P&S deduction - also said could be done by 1st week of Jan at the latest
I think his reference to 3 weeks was to have a firmed up exit plan. Indicated aim by end of the year but could see it being 1st week in January - either of which would be fantastic as it gives us scope in the transfer window
-
Have to say I’m really impressed with the administrator Andrew Hoskings. Clear communication, focused on delivering a successful exit plan and consistently referred to the club as “we”
Confirmed that Kirchner will be at the Blackburn game on Saturday so we need to make Pride Park rock again ?

Just listened to Liam’s press conference and mightily impressed by the passion, enthusiasm and commitment for the club that he exudes - and I believe it’s genuine. One of the reasons for the togetherness and fighting spirit that we are showing at the moment is the motivation and belief that both Wayne and Liam command……… players will walk through walls for them I’m sure and I feel this is showing on the pitch.

Ravel Morrison has so much to offer but he was far to deep tonight
I think that was deliberate from Rooney as he knew we’d be under a high press. Morrison our best player keeping the ball under pressure

One of the main reasons I can think of for the EFL rejecting this appeal outright will be because they do not want to set a precedent on this. If we get away with it then what is to stop any other club saddled with a heap of debt pulling the same trick? Go under, blame COVID, start fresh. Happy days.
I cannot see any circumstance in which this appeal goes our way.
My understanding is it will be assessed by an independent arbitration panel so won’t be something the EFL have to make a final judgement on. Might be a convenient way for the EFL to say to the likes of Gibson and co “it wasn’t me guv” ?

I think we have to stop trying to say this or that was the cause.
Tragedies happen when multiple things go wrong at the wrong time.
You could argue the signing of Anya or the employing of Pearson, or the Bryson Hughes were the cause .. none of which would be true.
BUT ... when you have a series of bad outcomes from a series of choices and events events and one of those is Covid
None of those events would have caused administration when taken as a unique happening. .. it was a series of events, all of which were contributory to the end result.
The difference with the other events is that you can budget and plan. Yes, we pushed the boundaries totally but they were boundaries set by the EFL with FFP losses allowed. Nobody can be expected to have “planned” or “budgeted” for a global pandemic that resulted in zero gate receipts for over 12 months. The argument against our appeal is that we shouldn’t have been over the losses allowed - which it seems we have been with the amortisation issue.
Personally I think it’s worth the appeal but by no means an easy win. Hopefully the Administrators have been given some encouragement in discussions with the EFL.

Unfortunately, IMHO we should have learned by now that our streams of information/ misinformation for DCFC’s ongoing struggles with The EFL are being fed to us by people and organisations that in truth we can’t really believe everything and possibly anything they say.
We will never know the truth about anything regarding this whole ? ⛈
I believe that there has been a serious dereliction of duties within both parties and we as the “little people” have no other option than to grin and bare it.
Should be an episode of Question Time with both Mel and the EFL represented. Won’t tell us anything but it’d be fun to see them both completely avoid answering the questions with politician type responses.

Skipped a few pages and alarmed to see this discussion about Mike Cashley.
Is there a serious link or is it just speculation based on the supposed imminent sale of Newcastle and our desperation to be associated with anyone with more than a few quid?
Speculation I believe, although just googled Mike Ashley Derby County and found an article saying he’s likely to be interested in buying a Championship club……… mentions Sheff Wed so not sure how recent it is
