Is it just me that finds it crazy we will offer £300k when he will be free in the summer?

I can only assume we have a fee for Cashin or something already arranged for us to be throwing that money around on someone with 6 months left.

If we have sold anyone then it makes sense that it isn’t announced until we’ve done our business so asking prices don’t go up.

Depends how much the club value promotion to the Championship and how much Paul Warne believes he will help us get there.

Wha'dya know. He played for Warne last year at Rotherham.

Let's just call ourselves Rotherham B.

    #NeedSomeScouts

How many ex Rotherham players do we have?  Out of the 12 senior players Paul Warne has brought to the club we have the grand total of………. 2 (Vickers & Washington)

Not even enough to make a Rotherham B 5 a-side team.

I think you’re getting confused with lazy journalists linking us with ex Rotherham players and who we are actually interested in.

  3. With promotion a genuine possibility his value to us increases significantly.  The new Sky TV deal will be worth a decent amount if we reach the Championship.  With the 1 year contract option protecting his value then I hope it will need a much higher offer for us to even consider letting him go.  Same with Max Bird if they are seen as key players in the run in……. adding one or two top players to the existing squad is much more palatable than ripping the heart out of the team. 🐏

    I think we'll get 4 points, maybe 3.

I'm not being negative, I just think we'll drop a couple of b******* against teams good enough to exploit them.

I'd be delighted if we get more than that but won't get down if we end up with a couple of losses. There's still a long way to go in the season.

    Nah, that’s not B4…… 10 points minimum 😉

I'd be slightly wary using B4's name for what could be seen as weaponised virtue signalling could backfire. Any kind of antagonistic react emote is capable of causing resentment, do we want B4's name and legacy attached to something that will stir negative emotions in some when used against them? Just a thought.

Replacing the Ram symbol for the 'COYR' react on the other hand...

Totally agree that anything B4 related should be about positivity.  Rather than using it in a negative way (I.e. as a message to be more B4) it would be better for it to be a response in recognition of a positive post

For those who care about this cup or love a good cup draw it's on Friday on Sky Sports News at 6.30

It's still a North/South split so we could get:

    Blackpool

    Doncaster

    Bradford

    Accrington/Lincoln

    Bolton

    Burton

    Wigan/Stockport

Matches played around week commencing Jan 4th

    Who do we want then?

It will be interesting to see if teams fully put out their best XI from now on let's say if we draw Bolton or Blackpool

Doncaster away would be nice 😊

  7. Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Daniel, sincere condolences to his family.  B4 was the most positive and vociferous supporter of the Rams and I will miss reading his posts on this forum.  We should all take a dose of positivity from B4 and use his energy to push the Rams over the line to promotion this season - this would be the most fitting tribute.  RIP Daniel

I'm getting fed up with Paul Warne feeding us crumbs about what may or may not happen in the transfer market. It's getting very boring and tedious.

Cloughie rarely gave anything away until he announced the signing of John O'Hare, Roy McFarland, Alan Hinton, Dave Mackay, Willie Carlin, Terry Hennessey, Archie Gemmill, Colin Todd, David Nish et al. When the announcement came it was just exciting and breathtaking and we didn't have to suffer the mental torture that we are going through at the moment. It's tedious. If he could just take a leaf out of the master's book, if he wanted Waggy so badly, he'd have gone round to his house last night, sold the deal to Mrs. Waghorn, slept in their spare room, got her to cook him breakfast and then signed her husband so they could  get him out of their house and most of us would be happy today.

Just keep things close to your chest Paul and simply break the news to us when you've done the deal. All of our lives would then be so much simpler.

That’s a bit unfair.  Waghorn played in Fozzies testimonial and it was widely reported he was training with us - not easy for Warne to keep that quiet therefore he answered direct questions honestly.  Apart from media leaks and speculation I think the club have kept things pretty quiet for most signings so far, particularly Vickers, Elder, Ward, Wilson, Nelson, Washington……… oh yeah, most of them really

Except the wage is believed to closer to £25-30k than £8k.

Principle still applies, it just becomes ever more unlikely it will happen.  I’ve seen many different salary quotes in here - I personally have no idea what is nearer the truth

    Should be an easy one to resolve….. example numbers only;

Rhodes on £8k per week salary

Derby only able to pay £4k per week

Huddersfield pay Rhodes off at £4k per week saving £4k per week over the year

Rhodes maintains £8k per week salary equivalent and has the chance to play football

    win win win 🤷‍♂️

    Its a fair point.

I was a huge fan of Rhodes and used to dream of signing players like him, along with the Tom Cairneys of the world.

My disappointment isn't with Rhodes as such, it's at the potential of Warne saying one thing and doing another, a little bit like in January.

Warne said a couple of weeks ago in an interview that he will likely have to go over the 32 year bracket to find a goal scorer

  12. He’s a goal scorer, we need a goal scorer, Warne hinted we may need to go over the 32 year old bracket to find a genuine prolific goal scorer.  If he comes, great, he’d undoubtedly be an asset.  That said, I can’t see it happening
