I can't be hypocritical. Ashley would be my preference. Kirchners come in now as the deal as it stands suits him.  Ashley will be the same but with more clear assets.  Both have let the embers of the season burn to the end to consider a deal. As it stands Kirchners in the driving seat and things are moving so hopefully it's concluded asap but realistically it could be an extension of exclusivity for a longer period and finding some funding for wages in the short term.  I also find it a bit uncomfortable that the manager seems to have so much opinion on who the correct person moving forward should be of late.  I've not seen it before at other clubs.

Because he knows the people involved and their experience in the game?

Why would Ashley be your preference out of an option of Kirchner or no club?

You'd think logically that Chris Kirchner would not have flown over today in time for the EFL board if he had picked up any vibes along the "more work required" line....

I'm smelling some Percy Plop! ?

Kirchner said in the zoom meeting with Solloway that he was going to be in the meeting with the EFL today, then last night he said he wasn’t required in the meeting, now the EFL are saying they need more dialogue before we can proceed.

    I smell a stitch up.

I'm amazed that Kirchner is considering buying the club with its debt without thr ground as part of the package.  The club is not worth £30m+ without the stadium....

Maybe Kirchner will buy the ground on a mortgage after the deal is done, maybe his proved funds before would not be sufficient to pass the business plan including it with the initial purpose and he will do that later - Its a theory of course.

Ive seen some posting that buying the ground with the club would mean a cash outlay of £50-55m, then acknowledging the club is not worth that.  I'd argue that its a terrible deal not to buy an asset valued at £81.1M even if its worth less, Id estimate at least £60m to rebuild so a reasonable assumption, its worth at least that. it makes no sense to buy the club and pass up the opportunity to buy the ground for £25M, it does not make business sense....

Owners come and go, so come sale time, if we still do not own theground, it will massively reduce the value of the club....  Maybe Kirchner see this as a speculative punt and therefore happy not to own the club, if he goes down the same route as Morris?

I hope I'm stressing about nothing though and we are all celebrating on Saturday....  Its certainly going to be an interesting couple of days....

The club is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.
Kirchner said he looked at many others and kept coming back to ours.
The infrastructure and fan base here sets us apart from clubs that would cost a similar amount.

It's almost like he's hoping to be one of the lads.  "One of our own", as they say!

He'll be sat in with our away support, and starting the bounce before "Game Day 4"!

Look out for face to face Fans Forum evenings... coming to a social club near you!

    ?

    They can’t win can they?

If he was some Malaysian (I’ve nothing against Malaysians BTW) businessman who never comes to the ground and never communicated he’d get a right royal roasting.

So he wants to be a part of the culture of the club he’s hoping to buy, good on him.

  5. The funny thing is, over the last few years, but especially this season, the atmosphere at most Championship stadiums has been appalling. Apart from (begrudgingly) Leeds, and Millwall a few seasons ago, it’s been complete silence from the home fans apart from 5 minutes after they (inevitably) score. We weren’t great either the last couple of seasons, and even Forest for a Derby game we’re silent till they scored in the second half.

It seems like the only ones who are making any effort to produce a decent atmosphere these days are the ones who have been through the wringer, like yourselves, us and Coventry.

thought CK came across very well on Amanda Solloway’s session- was really  encouraging. Just wish he’d do a little less twittering

Yes, he did come across well. Don’t you think it’s better than the confusing garbled misinformation we get from newspaper hacks?

At least we know it’s actually his words, as long as it doesn’t descend into Fawaz territory.

oh ok I thought he meant he wouldn't be owner if Morris still had stadium so if he takes us out of admin what is stopping Morris then asking for silly money for the stadium? holding him/us to ransom ? would be too late then surely thats why I thought he meant it needed sorting before completion and he starts paying bills etc

Well yes, it does depend on the change of ownership being sorted by the time we exit administration end of May/early June.

And yes, Morris could still scupper it and Kirchner walk away up until then.

However he’d be left without a football club to play in his stadium, which wouldn’t make any sense.

Great post and makes perfect sense to me...the statement from CK regarding wanting Morris out of the picture also makes perfect sense but has unfortunately got a few of us worried this might not happen in time for saturday.

Us as fans are so fragile it seems because of all of the false promises and endless negotitaions and buyers and preffered bidders etc is it any wonder though that it only takes one comment to make us worry.....No football ground should ever be seperated from the club and hope it comes back to where it belongs and will never be used as collateral or a bargaining tool in the future ...PP is our home!!!

Don’t expect it to be done by Saturday, it will will be a few weeks after that we exit administration, Saturday is an agreement to purchase and the OK to go ahead from the EFL.

Is there any indication on what level of certainty CK would eed regarding the ground, given timescales are "pressing" - would he accept agreement in principle being put in writing?

If he's nailing his colours to the transaction must happen before his transaction for DCFC it seems to have the potential to all fall apart.

From my understanding of the meeting he’s signing an agreement to buy the club this week after (hopefully) getting the OK from the EFL to pass over the league membership to his company, then it will take until the end of may/early June to bring us out of administration, that being conditional on the change of ownership of the stadium by then.
