Gladram reacted to angieram in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

Louie Sibley. Always seems to me to work reasonably hard and got a good instinct for a shot or a pass but lacks a wider football intelligence that the likes of Will Hughes has, or IMO Max Bird has. There are times when he, for example, fouls someone or gets booked unnecessarily or gets caught out of position, when I think why on earth did you do that?
I do wonder whether that’s why a number of different managers haven’t picked him regularly because on the face of it he’s got all the attributes to be a good player. Perhaps they don’t yet trust him enough.

I was at Saturday's game and to my mind it was a decent performance just lacking an end product and I said this at the time....it was far better than we had been playing recently and was a building block for tonight's game.

Cant believe people are arguing and point scoring. We won 4-2 away at "Posh". FGS just wind your necks in and enjoy it for what it is 🐏🐏🐏

Exactly what we need in my view. Hourihane and Smith are not controlling the midfield defensively and having this lad come in is a great signing. Looks very athletic from what I've seen. Doesn't have to be the best technical footballer because we've got plenty of them in midfield. Something different the majority of supporters have been crying out for.

I think something is coming. DFCC Official Twitter are posting on the hour about the 3rd kit. They didn't post as much for the home kit.
They know each tweet gets people looking for a new signing and been disappointed.

Rubbish - you stump up your money to be admitted to the games - that’s all. Believing that ‘we deserve’ anything else is all so much entitled ballcocks….

We definitely started off a a solid back 4, which slowly morphed more and more into a back 5 as the game went on. Kind of like this:
    Wildsmith
    Rooney   Nelson   Cashin   Forsyth
               Smith   Hourihane   LThompson
    Mendez-Laing
                               Waghorn   Washington

Really? I thought Collins put himself about well when he came on and Sibbers didn't contribute negatively at all let alone to an extent where he warranted a three.

I think the goalkeeper deflected the ball behind Max .
Slight deflections can mean you run past the ball and can’t get your feet right .
Criticizing Bird is ridiculous in my eyes as he always gives his best for the team whatever .

Keeper gets a touch and Bird can't readjust his body in time. Very harsh take on it.
Just posted in the Bird thread that it was reminiscent of the Gazza miss at Euro 96 just the opposite. Gazza expecting the touch from the keeper who doesn't and misses the ball by cms, Bird not expecting the touch and the ball goes behind him.

He’s literally the only midfielder capable of driving forwards with the ball (highlights from last night show that despite a disappointing performance he was able to shimmy his way through 3 Blackpool players before laying it into the forward as just 1 example).
He has got a killer pass on him (Stoke pre season for just 1 example).
He is technically gifted and completely 2 footed.

Obviously I’m talking about him in the context we find ourselves but he’s impressed Cocu, Lampard, Rooney, Rosenior and Warne. Regardless of thoughts on individual managers that is 5 managers in a row who have rated him.

I’ll ignore any lazy tropes about ‘always goes sideways’ too.

Absolutely right. That was abysmal. Wigan knew what to expect . They were ready and well drilled. We had no imagination ; everything was telegraphed; the midfield was pedestrian ; most crosses -in the first half especially -were over hit or poorly delivered ;  with the notable exception of about ten minutes after the equaliser, there was no meaningful attacking threat throughout the game . The inability/ reluctance to alter tactics was infuriating. I do not want to watch a season of that . It was like watching the definition of madness play out in front of me.
I fear that Mr Warne is a very limited tactician and I am unpersuaded by his media - friendly , platitude - spouting interviews. A season of tedious football beckons .

He will get asked 'We look short up front and haven't replaced McGoldrick...are there plans to replace him as most fans think we need to...'
He can a) say 'I don't want to talk about that'..
Or b) do what he has done and say things like ...'I agree we could do with a replacement/strengthening and we have made enquiries/ hope to hear/ are waiting for the chain to commence but there are issues with ..etc.
I'd prefer b). I'd guess the vast bulk of the fanbase would too.
Criticising him for honestly answering questions we all want answers to, is a weird complaint for me that proves you just can't please everyone.

EFL have stated that stadium clocks will keep going until the end of each half rather than stopping after 45 minutes - amazing how long it’s taken for common sense to be applied….

He doesn't have to. Club captain isn't the one who runs around the most, shouts the most or is the most aggressive.
It's the one who sets an example on attitude and behaviour in training, personal life and games.
The players, most of who worked with him last season, think Conor is that person.
