Much better second half. Was asked about wingbacks and praised Sibley and Ward, said we looked to have more bodies in and around the box which was an issue they addressed after the Charlton game. Specifically asked about Ward he expanded on his contribution today and across the season. Mentioned Adams and Gayle’s contributions. Glad there’s no Tuesday fixture to rest and recover before Saturday’s game. Asked “How do you keep the calm in run-in?” Said it’s pretty easy, doesn’t worry about the table, sticks to an honest and consistent message, positive culture, mentioned Ramstv put together a video that was showed to the team this week to positively reaffirm the season so far, not getting ahead of themselves/too high or low on the back of a result. Asked about the video sent to a terminally ill fan he was positive about the club and what it means to the community. Both had excellent games. much more of a plan and could see what we were trying to achieve. closer to having players back too! Srg Posted March 2 Share Posted March 2 Still don’t particularly like this back three. Bradley is slow and ponderous, Nelson isn’t vastly better either. Means we play at such a laborious pace most of the time. Today was better because the space that was in the wide areas was occupied by Sibley and Ward who are good enough going forward to use it. That hasn’t been the case for awhile with Elder, Nyambe and (shudder) left back Cashin. You can’t really play a back 3 and then two wing backs who are also bad on the ball. He can't finish to save his life then will bang in a twenty yarder, can't pass the guy next to him then sweeps a perfect ball cross field. He should have about 15 goals from the positions he finds himself in. Drives me up the wall. Anyway, good win and good to see Ward finally show what he's capable of.
