Clowes won't have run the club very prudently if we can't afford to sack the manager before the end of his contract.

Managerial sackings are ten a penny in football, surely he would have budgeted for this possibility?

You would think so, to not consider that something might go 'wrong' is poor business management.

I guess it's down to what Clowes accepts as the season outcome. If it has to be promotion then dare he gamble on top6 being good enough and expect a win at Wembley? If it has to be promotion will top2 and autos getting farther away cause a reaction?

David Clowes is a rookie club owner but a lifelong football fan . He can see he may not get such an easy opening as this to win League 1 . Next season Shef We’d , QPR, Rotherham , Notts C and Mansfield could be in it , and no teams with deductions. He has to way everything up.

We've not paid out transfer fees, probably preferring to pay the available money under the business plan out on wages. Compo to the gaffer and staff would come out of the same pot/budget and that is, apparently, reasonably empty with, hopefully, some kept to fund any incoming in January.

How do you know this?  Who's to say it hasn't been ring-fenced?  Would be pretty stupid not to.  Particularly after Warnes under-performance last season.

Are managerial sackings ten a penny for clubs that nearly went out of business quite recently?

I don't know about Mr Clowes patience, but isn't it about time these stupid repeat new threads were deleted by the mods?

Why? Does a different opinion to yours upset you?

Does the constant reminder that the current manager isn't up to standard upset you?

Is the ever increasing amount of fans showing concerns upsetting you?

If so then a football forum probably isn't for you.

tbf It is a bit silly asking a question that literally only person who can answer

Doubly daft when that person will never see the question, and even it thy did, wouldn't answer it.

It also features one of my pet hates, the proposition of "If I was <this person> I'd ___________", because surely if you were that person, you wouldn't be you, you'd be them, and you'd do whatever it is they would do, and not what you would do, so...

Yes.  Wigan were bought out of admin on 30 March 2021 and sacked Leam Richardson some 20 months later on 10 November 2022.  Can't be bothered to look into the circumstances of any other clubs that have been in admin but sacking managers is part and parcel of football no matter what a clubs circumstances.

Why would you give someone a four year contract if you weren't sure you could end if if they under-performed?
