I doubt he would be a guaranteed starter with everyone fit, but he played a lot during Sunderland’s promotion from L1 and still featured recently in their play-off campaign last year too. At 24 he’s a good age with resale value, although it’s probably going to be a loan at this stage. Not sure if that’s been stated? Embleton, Fornah, Hourihane, Bird, Smith & Thompson would give us good depth and some different options in the middle. We still have Robinson & Lindsay in case of a crisis providing neither go out on loan. I’d guess this is a move coming out of the Bobby Clark deal not going ahead.
