This is a round robin format leading to a knockout competition, not purely one or the other.

Mansfield drew the game but won the tie. There are separate rewards for each, that's the format.

The format defies the standard logic you have in your head about winning, losing and drawing, that's the problem and that's why I mentioned away goals, because they too defy logic - if there's a draw in a knockout competition then the way to settle it is pretty much always penalties, so why the away goals rule?

The prize for winning a knockout game is to go through to the next round. It's not difficult - if you haven't lost why have you been knocked out?

As an example of a competition where you can get points for losing - In the local pub darts league it's a best of 5 format, but whatever happens all 5 games are played - you can lose 5-0, 4-1 or 3-2. You don't get any points for the 5-0 but you do get points for claiming a couple of legs and losing 3-2.

Theres a high risk of them being pished judging by how early they were drinking in Utch this morning.

The town's absolutely packed with Vale and Sheff Utd fans going to Stoke. More coppers on duty than the Queens funeral!

There have been loads of police vans around. Maybe they have nowhere to park with Ascot Drive being shut.
