Because, I assume, he wants to deal with a dispassionate stable organisation rather than a tainted local businessman who has a bad reputation. Far more stability going forward. Isn't that obvious?

No.

Who are the 'dispassionate stable organisation' you speak of? The Council? OK.

I think you are being deliberately obtuse on this Roy.

I'm really not. Until we see CK's signature on the SPA (or whatever it is) then I'll keep being concerned about what things might happen. Whilst it might seem obvious what CK is doing perhaps the outcome isn't quite so clear.

You do seem to think its ok though Roy for Morris to STILL have some influence in our future ...How would you genuinely feel if Morris scuppers this deal because from what I've been reading you think its CK who should be questioned ? a man who at this moment in time is supposedly doing positive things to ensure we survive as a football club

“Worked with” amusing phrase - covers so much whilst saying so little. I had Tea with a baroness once I’ll have you know.

@VICE .. clearly a huge global publication where we all hang on every scoop

Dazed and Confused ? .. I am

Harpers Bazzaar. Is that in Marrakesh?

Vogue Japan .. ahh yes, well known for its detailed coverage of the J league

i-D .. is that a new electric conveyance ?

I just think Kirchner doesn't want MM involved in any way. Neither do we, or Team Derby. I think Team Derby have a history and relationship with MM that puts them in the best place to negotiate a dignified departure for the owner, which leaves the stadium in the hands of people who care about the future of the club.

I actually wouldn't mind if the council owned the ground long term but more likely there will be a transfer in due course.

As for CK's money, the Sun reported yesterday he has shown proof of £100 million to the EFL. Why 'waste' £20 million of that up front, if he can keep it to invest it in the team, then he'll be in a better place to buy the stadium back down the line.

Agree with all that. If we want to protect football clubs across the land maybe councils should own them the board. He’s happy to lease but not from MM think that’s also clear.

Comes down to what is the club worth. £55-£60m is the twice the value of a L1 club. A deal like this enables the creditors to be paid in line with EFL rules and avoid points deductions or worse having the golden ticket removed. Having to pay £20m for the stadium would’ve made those scenarios inevitable.

I understand why people are nervous about the stadium condition, it’s also effective negotiation tactics from CK to put the pressure on those dealing with that transaction. But if there wasn’t a very real possibility of the council stadium deal happening then I honestly don’t think he would be here in approaching the final stages to completion. I also think with Team Derby involved there is too much momentum for this not to happen.

Here is hoping the bedwetters only have one more week to wet the bed and we can look forward optimistically to the future. We need it, we’ve suffered enough.

Okay. But why does that entail MM not owning the stadium until then?

Because he could very easily increase the price or refuse to sell even with a contract in place.

We could also get to a scenario where some supporters would refuse to attend the stadium if Morris is involved.

Kirchner could also start to invest in the stadium knowing we can buy it back one day from the council and increase its value whereas why would you try to improve something that Morris owns.

When did I say this? You seem unable to consider that CK might not be able to go through with his 'wishes'.

How much do we "think" he'll drop the purchase price by and do we think Quantum will "accept?"

This still has a "last minute" MM rescue written all over it.

Agree but why was the gibbo ‘accord’ last minute, why is the stadium deal last minute?

I think it’s CK not Q though who is doing the accepting

Thank Christ for that. I thought that you were going to say that you are Piers Morgan.

Lol. Just because you have the cash doesn’t necessarily mean you should pay for something up front.

Perhaps he read the daily Fail today. Boris is looking to bring back right to buy so rent it off the council a couple of years then get a discount under right to buy. Questions sorted,!!

The stadium to be sorted by the time we come out of administration end of May/early June.

oh ok I thought he meant he wouldn't be owner if Morris still had stadium so if he takes us out of admin what is stopping Morris then asking for silly money for the stadium? holding him/us to ransom ? would be too late then surely thats why I thought he meant it needed sorting before completion and he starts paying bills etc

Well yes, it does depend on the change of ownership being sorted by the time we exit administration end of May/early June.

And yes, Morris could still scupper it and Kirchner walk away up until then.

However he’d be left without a football club to play in his stadium, which wouldn’t make any sense.

I'm asking why CK is putting on his condition. Just trying to understand what's what.

I'd really like Morris long gone. I don't want to be blinded by my dislike of him however.

It’s a shame CK won’t deal with MM because it rules out one of the most obvious options, ie a lease from MM to DCFC with some sort of option down the line.
But whatever the reason may be, CK is entitled to say that his investment is conditional on MM not being involved going forward so Q just need to work around it.

thought CK came across very well on Amanda Solloway’s session- was really  encouraging. Just wish he’d do a little less twittering

Think its a breath of fresh air us fans being kept up to date rather than always being in the dark with Morris
