It's not a cap per player, it's a total cap so there may well be players on over £12k (eg Bielik, Lawrence, etc)

Trevor Birch, EFL Chief Executive said: “The EFL’s objective throughout this ongoing process has been to ensure that the principles of the Regulations were upheld on behalf of all Clubs......."except of course if they get promotion as a result of blatantly ignoring those rules then we'll quietly...ahem.....ignore it". Does this finally mean we can finally move on from this mess....finally? And roll on independent regulator please. Note: “ensure the principles of the regulations were upheld” not “the regulations were upheld” which basically confirms that they have made an example of us… disgusting. Not fit to lead. Wonder if we’ll find out how much our overspend was and how that compares to Reading when they get the same deduction. Carnero
@Ghost of Clough What would these individual penalty amounts come in at on the points scale that they use? The Club has now submitted Revised P&S Calculations which will show that the Club’s Adjusted Earnings Before Tax in the relevant Reporting Periods is as follows: 22.1 3 years up to and including financial year 2016/17 - £46.76m loss, i.e. £7.76m in excess of the Upper Loss Threshold; 22.2 3 years up to and including financial year 2017/18 - £28.12m loss i.e. £10.88m under the Upper Loss Threshold; 22.3 3 years up to and including financial year 2018/19 - £50.72m loss i.e. £11.72m in excess of the Upper Loss Threshold; and 22.4 4 years up to and including financial year 2020/21 - £40.96m loss i.e. £1.96m in excess of the Upper Loss Threshold. derby8
Looks as if finance will dominate team issues for some time to come, suggest new owner includes a lay person's financial update in the programme from time to time. Miggins

Ram-Alf
IMO it became a dirty war, The EFL have been quoted as being "Shocked" when we had the gall to appeal the -12 point Administration, The EFL then get together and come up with a "cunning plan" tell the Admin...fine you can appeal, We'll just slow the process of your sale to a standstill, Admins decide to bite the bullit and accept what's been put forward to them so they can conclude a sale ASAP. This in reality makes it very difficult to trade. We can't (for instance) raise £2m by selling Jozwiak on £15k a week and replace him with Siriki Dembele for £500k on £4.5k a week. This is exactly my thinking, if we (as long as within P&S) decide to just ignore the business plan, try and somehow have a miracle season and survive then why not. Also, this puts us in a better position for next season, with better players already integrated into the squad in the likely event that we're relegated to League One? duncanjwitham
Oh look, it's "invent a weird new amortization policy and accuse Derby of doing it" day again: "However, Derby gave players a 'residual value' - meaning that the club could increase the value of players during the life of the contract - a practice which it was claimed was not in line with generally accepted accounting principles." Just no. Literally every word of that is wrong. Indy and Anon 1
Guest
The EFL are disgrace. They say that they want to protect the integrity of the league, but this has done the opposite. It means that we can pick and choose which games to put any effort into, as the chances of staying up are next to zero This means the integrity of the league is damaged, the thing they say they hold so dear. Gaspode
The only good part of this decision is that it seems that we should start next season with a clean slate and be able to operate as a 'normal' club for the first time in many seasons..... Ravabeerbelly
Can someone put on a list of permitted players as it stands? I make it a current squad of 26 but with :- Brown McDonald Esobele Williams Watson Hutchinson Stretton who won’t now count towards the squad size having not started 3 games at championship level or above. Is that corrrect? Wasn’t sure of McDonald / Esobele / Watson. Edited November 16, 2021 by Ravabeerbelly r_wilcockson
